We meet new characters this week, face some old threats, and while Yan Wushi doesn't need to be told twice to protect Shen Qiao, I love that Shen Qiao shows he is FULLY capable of defending himself this episode! There are some things that seem a little wonky exposition-wise this week, but no worries -- if I don't get it right here, there's still the novel to go!

Cherry blossoms will never not be gorgeous in an anime or donghua! SQ at only 30% is giving me all the Xie Lian “not at full power” vibes as well - still INSANELY strong! And yes, it’s interesting to see the comparisons of whereas Hua Cheng was worried about XL and in Protect Mode a lot (while not wanting XL to know), Yan Wushi’s Protect Mode is also laced with a curiosity to see what all SQ can do - the comparison and contrasts are so interesting with them! And yessss, SQ is NOT a naive person to be trifled with! Him having a strong sense of justice is really fun in this series - and him straight up killing someone means he is NOT messing around. And Yan Wushi was giving 0% Hetero Energy from the START, but this episode dipped even into the NEGATIVE. Never has “barking up the wrong tree” been more apt than to describe XuiXui’s pursuits here! 😛 Thank you so much for the comment and kind words!

2025-12-26 22:02:12 +0000 UTCI loved this episode and it’s visuals .. that cherry blossoms scenery is so beautiful Our SQ is a badass and even at 30% he can take hits from both YWS and the Heihuan sect leader 🥳 Meanwhile YWS is more and more intrigued by the anomaly that SQ is .. SQ killing creepy mutifaced man was so satisfying.. both in revenge for the poor little girl he tortured and gloated about it but also satisfying to show that SQ isn’t a naive fool, he can execute justice when he thinks it needs to be. Ok now, YWS rejecting and insulting Yuan Xuixui is a statement of where his interests lie if I ever saw one .. the man stalks, saves and whispers in SQ ears , uses enchanting voice just to learn his evil thoughts 😆… but a beautiful curvy lady makes advances and he goes jerk mode 🤣 Totally straight behavior if you ask me 😏😏 Awesome discussion as always ❤️
