CHIHAYAFURU Season 2: Episode 11 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*TEAM-BUILDING HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

The Nationals are underway but before our team can face their next opponent, Nishida has tension boil over against Tsutomu of all characters! It's a complicated episode that has me on an emotional roller coaster with Nishida's character - as Chihaya and Taichi both step up in their own ways -- all for the sake of the team and becoming the best in Japan!

CHIHAYAFURU Season 2: Episode 11 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Hello Could you plz remove the sentence about Taichi’s jealousy being a part of his long term growth ? Thank you 🙏🏼

Be Happy

I have alot to say about this episode!! I think last week my comment got flagged because I was making some predictions about maybe Nishida talking to Taichi in this episode because they both have an inferiority complex to Arata and both paused playing karuta due to that but Im glad that Taichi on his own and this drama between Nishida and Tsutomu worked itself out. Ok so first of all what I have to say about Nishida is simple I do think that he was right to be worried about Tsutomu drifting into a full behind the scenes team member and so him bringing it up great but of course he's a teenager about it and he tries to beat around the bush by testing him about it and runs away and sulks etc I wasnt too happy about that but Ive said this about Nishida that he is a say whats on mind person first then think about it later. I would have rather he said up front what he needed to and stayed for Chihaya's discussion but I get that he was having an emotional moment thinking about his own regrets and ran off but despite how poorly handled this was on Nishida's part he did pull himself together and figure out his opponents mechanics with help from Tsutomu and and gave Chihaya great advice. Now I want to talk a little about Chihaya I think in season 1 Chihaya was a bit immature she was impetuous and ran full steam ahead sometimes not thinking too much of the consequences of it and she was blind sometimes to what was going on with her team and having Nishida and Taichi to keep her grounded was needed in season 1 but in season 2 she has grown and learned so much and I think time and time again when her teammates expect her to have an immature stance on a decision to be made in this season she has shown why she is the ace and why she is the captain especially in this crisis where both Taichi and Nishida are emotionally compromised to make proper decisions and she steps in and makes a simple and rationale decision. I dont take Empress statement as an insult to Chihaya that she can only be counted on in matches. This is Empress saying that Chihaya is the ace of the team and that is where she should be the most reliable. If Empress didnt trust Chihaya to be apart of strategizing and decision making and other roles then she would have spoken up just like she did in season 1 where she asked that Chihaya not be president. Empress is not the type to mince words. I think Empress as well doesnt want to put the pressure of the other administrative roles unto Chihaya but wants her to mainly think about playing karuta but that doesnt mean she cant be essential to other roles. I think while this team gives Chihaya a hard time sometimes reasonably and sometimes not at the end of the day they trust her. I think even in that little moment where they are getting onto Chihaya about her not remembering Ousaka to me that moment is not them belittling her Taichi Kana and Nishida are at the end of the day her friends and so they can get on to her about certain things as a friend it's like if I walked into a history class and the teacher mentions something and Im like whats he talking about and my friend can say oh you idiot he mentioned it yesterday I dont have to feel offended and can laugh at being called that because my friend is saying this because we're friends and they know sometimes I dont pay attention to certain things. I think the anime does a great job of showing when a moment is tense and we feel just as on edge as the characters and when it's lighthearted and we can kinda laugh along with the characters. I think Taichi being on edge last episode vs Taichi kinda bantering with Chihaya saying what are you a toddler is a classic example of that. I think in regards to that comment about Chihaya being too dependent on Taichi. I dont think Chihaya is dependent on Taichi in the way that people want to think she is but I do think if Taichi said the next day Im transferring schools or something she would be a mess because I think outside of the love triangle I think Chihaya subconsciously holds on to both Taichi and Arata while she has gotten used to not having Arata beside her physically he is metaphorically that river guiding her to her dream and I dont think she would want to do any of this without Taichi because in season 1 Taichi told her he wasnt playing anymore and she wasnt having it and her winning that Class B tournament was their agreement that he would join. Of course he decided to join for her but while Chihaya can do alot of things without Taichi she doesnt want to because for her that would be no fun. So number one MVP of this episode Tsutomu he has grown so much from wanting to win his first match to feeling useless and sitting out a match to choosing to support the team and becoming such a vital member and he used to be jealous of Taichi and now he and Taichi are up at night having strategy meetings and being in sync. Chihayafuru does not miss. My second MVP is Chihaya and Ive already sung her praises for how she has been this season. I think third MVP is Taichi and I love that Taichi on his own realizes the obvious lol Chihaya is thinking about what is best for the team and is ready to make hard decisions for it. I like that before even Retro showed up Taichi was wavering between giving Chihaya what she needs vs securing an easy win and Im proud that he went for a fair match up that ideally shows his trust and the team's trust in Chihaya as the ace. That was a great moment. Now dont get me wrong I do agree with Empress that we should not let Taichi have too much on his hands because he is an overthinking disaster and him being emotionally compromised because of Arata nearly led to disasters which is why Im glad that the other members can step in when needed and I would say the same for Chihaya while I love her dont give her too much to think about either because as Taichi feared she is a little bit distracted with Shinobu and Arata on her mind. Im glad that Taichi was level headed throughout all this. This was an unexpected but great episode and now karuta match time and oh Im nervous.
