It feels so good to be back with Chainsaw Man and after nearly THREE YEARS, your girl needs a refresher on the story and this is going to scratch that itch!
These next four months, we're going to be looking at the manga month to month, building up to the movie coming onto streaming services and I'm SO hyped - already, Fujimoto is proving once again to be quite the artist with quite the range and I'm living for it - Viva la Pochita! Let's GO!

Right?! THREE YEARS since I watched the anime - where has time gone?! And yeah, I had not realized how much I forgot until getting into this volume! Pochita is absolutely PRECIOUS! I love him and his design so much. Fujimoto knows how to market that little devil! And Denji being caring! Yeah, he is performing a lot how he thinks he needs to and what he should desire, but the honest reality is that he just wants some basic human needs at the end of the day. It’s so sad to see how much he’s struggling. Yessss, Makima is chilling! Yeah, she took advantage of him being in need and did it so quick and smoothly; it’s almost scary. Well, it IS scary! Someone commented that the muscle demon part wasn’t in the anime, so it’s cool we’re seeing some extra bits! Yay! Thank you for the comment! I’m so excited to get more into this manga next month!

2025-10-23 03:07:09 +0000 UTCGosh, it's been so long since I interacted with anything Chainsaw Man, and reading through this volume made me realized that I remembered much less of it than I thought; so this reread will be great in preparation for the movie. The little Pochita's that appear at the end of each chapter are adorable and probably my favorite part of the volume xD I had forgotten how inocently caring Denji can be, even if his goals may seem perverted, at the end of the day they all steam from a desire for connection and friendship that he was denied so much of his life. It's so interesting to see him forming his criteria and boundaries for these things now as he experiences the world for the first time. Makima is chilling as heck and I think we haven't really seen even the tip of that iceberg, but just casually telling Denji that he signed his life away after he already is in too deep to do anything about it is quite the move. Oh! Yeah, I don't think that bit with the little girl in the woods and the muscle demon was in the anime... though it's been so long I'm not entirely sure anymore.
