*PREPARED HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Zhou Zishu is demanding answers, and answers we do get! Not all of them, though, as there's still some mystery afoot -- but there's not much time for that as Zhao Jing and Scorpion King face a break up and Gu Xiang and Cao WeiNing are getting married! But what hurdles do our would-be couples face?! And what about Zhou Zishu's condition, now?!

WORD OF HONOR: Episode 34 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

I was glad that Xiaolian was able to at least be back with the love of her life but I honestly was not expecting him to still be alive! At least it works out and helps take ZJ down. UGH, the drinking scene is so sad…poor ZZS! UGH…and yes, knowing the cut scene, now it makes sense…it’s so heartbreaking, indeed! Why can’t we have nice things?! Y’ALL the Scorpion King and Zhao Jing scene is INDEED PERFECTION! And seeing actual fear on ZJ’s face was so delicious…I hate that the cycle of abuse has continued with the Scorpion King, but it is sweet cold karma for ZJ, isn’t it? Yeah, I felt so bad for ZZS in that moment because it was clear that he didn’t want Chengling to do that and WKX realizes how ZZS’s is taking it. There’s so much good in this episode, but also so many sad scenes like that one. BUT with that, the “bedroom-scene” energy was also off the charts - Great Shaman and Lord Seventh are just having the time of their life on vacation haha!! My favorite ZZS x WKX moments are either sassy and flirty or tender and soft, though! We need more fluff, less angst! The hug was so precious and WKX looked like a little kid! I just love that moment so much! The Ghost Valley FIghters are the most obedient and loyal union, haha! I LOVE the robes WKX and ZZS have in that scene - SO rich and lush in color. And then you have GX and CWN looking STUNNING! WKX’s demeanor instantly becoming paternal around her with her wedding - the contrast between that and how puppy-like he contrasts around ZZS? Just…this man! I had missed the sibling dynamic with GX and CL as well! I’m glad that YBY made that deal with WKX in the end; it definitely felt in character while helping the plot. Thank you for the comment and the kind words! I can’t believe we’re down to the wire with the live action series! I’m not ready for it to be the end!

Yessss, I thought that was really sweet and a good tying together of their characters from the start to the finish (or near it) of the series! And yes, as much as I wanted YQ and LQQ to work out, he just couldn’t follow through, which sucks for him! And yeah, LQQ fighting for the Tragicomic ghost and being so supportive - I love that and like you said, action speaks louder than words! YES! YQ just didn’t listen enough to that old saying, did he? Thank you for the comment and kind words!

I think the Cheng Ling and Xiao Lian bit works out. Since Scorpion King brought Deng Kuan back to his senses, it makes sense Xiao Lian would choose him. She loved him from the start anyway, so it feels like her story just circles back to where her heart always was. I liked Deng Kuan coming back to expose Zhao Jing—it’s poetic, given his role in Zhao Jing framing Gao Chong. It also gave Xiao Lian closure, freeing her from believing he’d betrayed her father. The drinking scene is heartbreaking. Everyone laughing and chatting while Zhou Zi Shu just sits there, realizing piece by piece that he knew nothing while everyone else was in on the plan. Imagine how awful that must feel, your soulmate making life-altering choices without you and whole room is in on it. Looking back at ep 33, his blank face makes more sense now: he chose revenge for Wen Kexing over his own life, and now Wen Kexing is alive while he’s on a path to die. No wonder he looked shocked and empty back then. Oh my lord, the Scorpion King and Zhao Jing scene… absolute perfection! His robes, his face, his emotions…Everything was on point. I loved his outburst too, you can feel how much has been festering beneath the surface, and finally he gets to unleash it on the man who caused it all. Even better is Zhao Jing’s reaction, you actually see real fear, which is so rare. The Scorpion King admitting he would’ve done anything to make Zhao Jing happy, yet after countless chances, he still failed him...That “You failed me” line from Scorpion King carried so much weight. It beautifully mirrors all those earlier moments where Zhao Jing said, “Don’t fail me…” and the Scorpion King muttering to himself in episode 26, “If you don’t fail me, I won’t fail you.” over and over. It’s all going full circle. Zhou Zi Shu’s face when Wen Kexing tells him Cheng Ling modified the weapon to “kill” him is so chilling. And the way Wen Kexing looks terrified at his reaction? He only shows that kind of fear around Zhou Zi Shu, the only person he yearns acceptance from. Everyone in the room going “Uh oh, please don’t be mad!” Then hearing the shaman say he warned Wen Kexing that Zi Shu needed rest and couldn’t handle another fight because of his wound. Wen Kexing knows him too well. Zi Shu would never just sit back and watch if he knew what was happening. So keeping him in the dark wasn’t about mistrust, it was about love. Protecting him mattered more than anything else. Zi Shu snapping “Sit down!” and everyone obeying is iconic! And that punishment scene? Tell me it didn’t have bedroom-scene energy. Then we actually kind of get one. Wen Kexing all giddy, and that hair sweep... So effortless, like Zi Shu didn’t even realize he was doing it, just pure habit. It’s such a perfect little detail showing how natural their intimacy has become. Wen Kexing saying “All my worries are gone now that I know you’ll live and accepts me”. So soft, so romantic. But of course, they can’t just let us bask in the fluff, oh no… we need the angst. Sigh… The HUUUG!! This scene is honestly one of my favorites. It’s heartbreaking, yet beautiful. Wen Kexing finally feeling like a good person. For so long he tried to convince Zi Shu he was “kind-hearted philanthropist Wen” while secretly drowning in hatred and grief. And now, at last, he feels worthy: of their master, of his parents, and of Zi Shu’s love. The ghost valley fighters cracking me up “Oh, I’m a decorator now? Sure, whatever” They just follow orders literally. And then Wen Kexing and Zi Shu walking in, looking like a wedding procession themselves. The robes, the atmosphere—it mirrors Gu Xiang and Cao Wei Ning’s wedding perfectly, like a subtle double ceremony. Also, Gu Xiang calling out Wen Kexing for being all obedient and timid around Zi Shu? Comedy gold. And the best part…he doesn’t even deny it, cus he knows it’s true. I’m glad we got a little more of the sibling dynamic between Gu Xiang and Cheng Ling. I’ve missed that. And of course, our ultimate green flag going, “I could never discipline Gu Xiang!” And then the part where Cheng Ling’s all, “Let’s move on, violence doesn’t solve anything,” and Wen Kexing and Zi Shu both just standing there like murder husbands going, “Yeeah… suuure… totally…” cracks me up! And for Ye Bai Yi, that felt like the perfect compromise. He was torn, not really wanting to kill Wen Kexing given their history, but still needing to honor his promise. This way, he could uphold his vow without doing something he’d regret. I love how the Shaman and 7th Prince are just… there for the vibe, lol. They stumble into this wild scene and were like, “Yep, we’re staying to watch it unfold.” And I kinda liked the translation in the episode I’m watching as it says “if you have a lively baby…” which fits Cao Wei Ning and especially Gu Xiang perfectly. And Gu Xiang and Cao Wei Ning turning to Zi Shu in perfect unison when Wen Kexing acts up totally backs up that comment about “the wife has all the power.” Just Gu Xiang saying “Brother” and Wen Kexing listening like he knows he won’t stand a chance. He can’t even argue with Zi Shu’s serene face, and just gives up. They both end up looking like the ultimate parental units, and Wen Kexing? Completely powerless. Hilarious! I’ve been so busy lately that I only got to watch this episode now, but it’s been on my mind the whole time. I’ve gotten so hooked on the weekly dopamine from this series on your channel...it’s wild to think it’s almost over...

I think it's very appropriate that Liu Qianqiao and Tragicomic ghost decide to spend the rest of their lives together when ghost valley is sealed. Yu Qiufeng always told Liu Qianqiao that he loved her but his actions didn't always support it. Meanwhile Liu Qianqiao has spent the majority of the show fighting for Tragicomic ghost's life, and Tragicomic ghost saved Qianqiao who took the offer of becoming a ghost over killing herself in disgrace after the debacle with Yu Qiufeng's wife. In this case, actions speak louder than words.

I’d be up for seeing you read the novel! It would be really interesting to compare and contrast the two, especially with the tv series ending being kinda rushed and cobbled together. I loved the scene between Xiao Jing and the Scorpion King too! Scorpion King getting to go fully sinister without XJ’s manipulations holding him back? Deliciously terrifying! Chengling: Why are you trying to send everyone away? ZZ: Oh…you know…just good to have one’s affairs in order is all… Me: 😭 Can’t believe we’re so close to seeing how this whole series ends! I can barely hold back from watching ahead to hopefully get the last of my questions answered! Thanks for the video!
