ORB: On the Movements of the Earth! Episode 4 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*HEADPHONE WARNINGS IN RETROGRADE*

It's a new day, ten years later, and a new chapter - as we meet Oczy and Gras! Both are men with different shadows of despair hanging over them, but both are also about to experience a potential "enlightenment" from guess who? Another heretic that may be connected to one who just happened to pass a decade prior! Hmmmmm, indeed!

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! Yes, the way this series views people who through their experience shape their world views differently is so good! I’ve honestly heard multiple pronunciations of Nowak at this point between you and YouTube commenters, so hopefully y’all bear with me as I pronounce it the way I do…but I’ll keep trying! I’ll probably just imitate the show the best I can. That is also really cool about Gras’s name as well! I am not usually great at recognizing VA’s unless it’s Tsuda, Miyano Mamoru, or Yuki Kaji or Kamiya, but that’s really cool! Thanks for the info! Seriously, though, it’s hilarious how this show mimics our own world now, where the idea of empathy and beauty is met with hostility and claims of sacrilege. *slurps tea* Thank you so much for the comment! So excited for this week’s episode!

Awesome reaction and discussion!! This episode is another one full of different views on living, world and existence. I love it so much how every person in this story seems to have their own unique views and points and how much like REAL people they feel because of it. Because there are no two people who hold exact same opinions on everything and this show is soo good at showing all the different points of view the characters hold. Poor Nowak had to deal with being named after an animal for three episodes straight XD Fun pronunciation fact! the "w" in Nowak is a hard w! Its said in the same way as the "w" in "wait". Did you maybe recognize Oczy's VA? The one giving him the voice is Katsuyuki Konishi, known to you from his role as Tengen Uzui from Demon Slayer! Some lore about the name Gras because i found it very interesting that they used that particular name in the story. Before watching Orb i wasn't even aware that there was such name in polish and had to do research on it to find out if they didn't simply made it up. The name Gras is very rare and unusual, and its origin and etymology are not clearly established in Polish. It is most likely a name with foreign roots, perhaps Germanic or Slavic, that was adapted over time in some regions. Its very similar to the word "grasować," which means "to steal", "to spread" or "to move about uninvited in someone else's land", so the name may have been associated with an thief or searching person. Which I think adds interesting connotations to Gras character and the story overall!! After all, Gras is moving into what others consider the territory of God uninvited, with his intent to hear out Dominic and his theories that are heretical to everything church is preaching about. Now that you mention it, its really funny when you look at the heretics we been introduced to in the story and how the situation is like: Hubert and Dominik: Actually the world in pretty beautiful and living is great. Every other person: GASP!!! SACRILEGE!! LIES!!! TO THE FLAMES WITH YOU!!! BURN ON THE STAKE FOR THE SIN OF SAYING THAT THIS WORLD IS WORTH LIVING IN!!!

Yeah, I don’t think that title will fit YouTube either. I agree with you, that OP is fantastic! New characters to fall in love with!!! 😍 The point made about Oczy’s sharp vision, observation were made with the naked eyes. So, if you needed glasses, (me) at this time in history, I’d make a terrible astronomer! Now, they did have magnifying glasses, they even had eyeglasses back then. Cool site about eyewear. The history of spectacles - College of Optometrists https://www.college-optometrists.org/the-british-optical-association-museum/the-history-of-spectacles What they didn’t have at this time were telescopes! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_telescope So sharp eyesight was an advantage! I’m sure having spectacles were not cheap! Another class distinction. Hell, they aren’t inexpensive now! Musical interlude: Beautiful World by Devo. https://youtu.be/56u6g0POvo0?si=MnvSUYPfcPHDHv8L A bit of a cynical view of what we have done to this rock we call Earth. (Above song) The church was pushing its propaganda of what a hell hole we live in. Sinners do not deserve anything but to suffer, you know? I like how you distinguished wanting to improve something by pointing out the faults and just trashing something with no intention of improving it. We are really living in that time line… Remember, in order to fix a problem, you have to acknowledge it first! The discussion of heaven and souls is a fascinating one. One thing my parents did was make sure we were at least exposed to different religious beliefs and outlooks about this very thing. Now, they educated us in a way that was more objective when it came to religion. One reason they did this was to arm us from this sort of propaganda from religion. You know, the more you know! The second reason is that it is very interesting! My mom was the real expert here. Reading this section of the manga and watching the anime, it just churned up all the claustrophobic feelings of despair. I think you verbalized what I’m trying to say better. Sips tea, unfortunately, people are a political animal. The Church is very political! All power structures are and I don’t get the people who don’t want to engage in this sort of discussion because they don’t want politics in their entailment. 🤷‍♀️ So if you get some spicy comments because of it, they may not get what this masterpiece is depicting. Mmm the soul, yeah, I don’t believe we have a soul or go to heaven. But that’s just what I believe. Do I have proof? Nope! So who knows? To me, it makes this world more precious and more beautiful. It makes my small influence on others more important and impactful. It makes me a better person because, well, I only have one shot at this life. It makes the stakes higher because there are no redos or great rewards. I have to make my own heaven on earth! The soul to me is our mind. When it is gone, it’s gone. It lives on in those we interact with and the things we leave behind. Precious memories are even more valuable as well. We are social creatures and I’ve said before, we are our minds, it’s how we see this beautiful world in all its awe and mystery. So I’ve prattled on again and probably went off the rails. One more prattle, faith and science. If only Gras had continued his observations! If he had faith in the process! One thing that I hear a lot is the word Faith and Science being put together. I think you used it in the proper way. Faith as in trust. I have faith in science because I trust it. Or I should trust it because it’s the best system we have for finding the truth. I bring this up because the word faith can be weaponized against science and the truth. I just wanted to mention this because bad FAITH actors do twist this and call science a religion. It is not. I believe in science like I believe that if I get a flu shot, my chances are greatly reduced for contracting the flu! There is a mountain of evidence behind that faith. I love how this story is unfolding. It’s building the mystery! It’s slowly filling in the gaps to the stone box! It’s also bringing up these deeper issues on the human condition. I’m sure you’re getting some great comments! Loved the reaction and yes, I couldn’t help myself, I’m a weak willed heathen after all, I read the whole series! Edit: well, it makes sense to me! physicist and knitting: https://youtu.be/iTLvD6-X8WQ?si=aTk7k8IjtSBenZig And a rebuttal to the above video! https://youtu.be/wx1orbc-7MQ?si=JjhlLVkUWENz7PG0. Mars, the Bringer of War. Composed by Gustave Holst, performed by Isao Tomita. https://youtu.be/hsZqXdPZb8s?si=KwlFVRYFY5MsjpHs I have had this piece of music in my life since childhood. This was gifted to me by my aunt when I was around 8. This is when I realized I loved electronica! ( I still have the album) My favorite piece, ( I used this as my wedding march) is Jupiter. https://youtu.be/Gu77Vtja30c?si=BV_TRlsgCIbVb9-T It was also used in Princess Dianna’s funeral. And I wouldn’t mind the same. I just love this piece of music! The Tomita version https://youtu.be/tDFocqYSrfE?si=Q_ikjswE8NlK65qo
