I won't lie; I paused the reaction in complete fear that I had skipped an episode. Luckily, I've been informed about the reasons but regardless: The moments between Wen KeXing and Zhou Zishu were AMAZING, things are escalating at rapid speed, and I am just over here hoping everyone will be okay so I can continue to enjoy the fangirl-worthy moments between these two!

When lord seventh talks about how people from the shaman’s homeland will take those they love, I literally picture the shaman just picking up lord seventh like a bag of potatoes and walking off lol

Now I know I’m not alone in that confusion and have an explanation for the sudden weirdness, so my thanks to you and your mods and discord people!

2025-09-02 06:31:51 +0000 UTCYouhou ep 31 finally .. you can’t imagine how impatient I was for you to reach this episode because the coherent moments 😂 that we had were so very rewarding First of all, your confusion was so very understandable and relatable. The pacing change was really confusing at first watch and you re left wondering: did I miss something ? > a rite of passage 😛 But seriously I just want to thank the production of the show because they really did do the best they could with what they have and with a lot of love. The show suffered post pandemic because the a lot of casted actors quit for other projects because financially it was rough. It was almost cancelled if Wolong nuts didn’t step upand even that didn’t prevent difficulties that were felt later (namely production conditions as some commenters inform you and especially 8 episodes less than what was initially planned) Some actors like Peng ju’s actor were initially technical crew (he was assistant director of I a remembering right and step up to fill the role last minute), Adding the censorship to the mix and the writer using every trick possible to get it approved without altering the core of the story (a BL dressed as a bromance) and I can only say a big thank you to the crew that was able to give us this show with this quality even with those difficult conditions. Now I m not going to talk about anything cut because as we already talked, there is still episodes left + the novel so there will be plenty time then to discuss this I ll more focus about what I like in this episode and there is a lot. 1/ WKX coming as the Knight/ Villain in a bright shining red Ghost valley robe to save his bf was as badass as it can be.. I missed that sassy and unapologetic gremlin .. *him saying to Peng Ju : Oops you outed me .. that was supposed to be a secret* is one of the funniest moment of the show imo 😂 But with that you can also see the murderous intent in his eyes when he turned to face the window of Heaven soldiers : how dare they took his bf and torture him.. they have a death wish.. That GLORIOUS moment when WKX kneels before ZZS ( you guessed it right, that was one of my two very fav scenes of this ep 🥰) is so emotionally charged!! Not only he shed all facade and bend the knee, him the most powerful man in GV, in front of all his subordinate.. but also and especially, he finally, finally acknowledged, accepted and embraced his appartenance to the Four season manor sect and officially paid respect to his Senior. since the Long cabinet arc and the reveal of his identity, ZZS was tiptoeing and walking on eggshells around him about that very sour subject. Everytime he panics, deflects, denies it, rejected it .. because he didn’t deem himself worthy of being ZZS’s shidi. He s done so many wrong things.. but it took his true identity to be revealed, for ZZS to protect him and be willing to die for/with him and for him to accept him WHOLE, unconditionally for him to let go of that fear and decide that he is finally Home, because ZZS is his soulmate, his Senior but especially his home. Now the Hairpin scene _squee_ how could that even pass the censorship!! I was flabbergasted the first time.. we have WKX kneel, then propose? Show what are you doing to us? Jokes aside, that was the most intimate, open hearted moment between them to date. Few words were exchanged, but they were very powerful… ZZS having the ultimate faith that WKX will come save him was almost too much for our ghost chief to handle Someone having that much faith in you let’s put a ring on it, or in that case a hairpin Also ZZS asking WKX if he is going to share his burdens, is in my eyes that was his way to propose a long life commitment to WKX .. love these two. Sweetest scene ever ZZS actor supposedly joked about adding a kiss to the scene.. I wonder if the director had a heart attack that day 😂😂 WKX is sure a bad influence on ZZS, or is he? The presence of Lord Seventh and The Great Shaman continues to be a delightful addition to the squad, the chemistry between them is amazing. WKX and SK being on the same frame is surreal.., those two were undeniably (along ZJ) the puppet masters behind all the events that happened since ep 1 so the two meeting finally was an absolutely epic moment, such charisma and power and similarities yet also differences.. Another intimate moment is WKX discussion with Tragicomic Ghist, hearing her adresssing him with the endearment A’Xing and him calling her Aunt Luo was so heartwarming. They both care for each other, her seeing him as maybe a son and him seeing her a the only adult figure that cared for him in those horrible years in GV. WKX trusts very few people mainly Ah Xu and À xiang but Tragicomic is certainly a trustworthy person for him to spill all of that to her. And it’s through that discussion that you see the moment WKX finally clocks that him being exposed to Drunk like a Dream in ep 5 and in later episodes was the reason the effect of the water of Lethe (Oblivion) got nullified and his deepest obsession and regret that he buried deep in his subconscious came back to the surface : the fact he led ZJ to his parents home which led to their death. It’s a simple moment of realization but Gong Jun portrayed it with such perfection through his facial expression and eyes play. Gong Jun and Zhan ZEHAN were on their A game through the whole 30 last episodes but in this one ? They decided to go all out. Amazing discussion and reaction as always ❤️
