There are just NO MISSES in this series, are there?! Ririka and Chihaya being mirrors of each other were so good! I love seeing Chihaya learning and slowly growing as a character! I hope that Ririka has a good childhood and keeps the love for Karuta despite the expectations placed on her and I think Chihaya’s respect for her will help with that. The mom being supportive was so sweet to see as well! And yeah, apparently we can’t have ultimate character growth for our trio with supportive parents completely! ;) 😛 I love how much Dr. Harada supports Chihaya and Taichi! He’s such a good character and I’m enjoying him more and more as we get into this series! Chihaya definitely has a great friend group and support system with Empress and the Karuta team! She would never let on, but considering how she doesn’t have much support for herself at home, this is pretty crucial for her. Ohhhhhh and YES, the declaration of WAR to Arata from Taichi! YES! *swoons and fangirls* Honestly, just let them be a throuple. Do it, mangaka. Be brave. Hahaha, thank you for the comment and kind words! 😀

Oh, this episode was so good to start bringing us to a close for this season! I LOVED the comparissons between Chihaya and Ririka, and the way we were able to see how far Chihaya has come in her play. Seeing her actually strategizing, moving back a little and carefully noting the way Ririka played, was a delight after how much our girl has struggled with that. Dr. Harada allowing Chihaya to use her speed after she had practiced, and proven that she could play slowly and carefully as well was great. Allowing Chihaya to practice, with an opponent she wasn't familiar with, these new abilities and really putting them to the test, but also letting her feel as confident and powerful in Karuta by playing by her strengths in a match that she could handle is a very smart strategy. Gosh, Ririka's backstory had my heart, yeah. I kinda wish we could see were she goes from there, but I know that's probably not gonna happen. I do wish her all the best, and that she can continue loving Karuta and feeling at home in it. I'm sorry, but seeing Ririka's mother being so supportive and sweet to her daughter made contrast her to the parents of our main trio, because it was, like *"so the mangaka can write good parents, they just choose to not do it for the main trio"* and I had to laugh to myself a little. I'm sorry to keep bringing it up, but it's just something that I can't unsee now x'D Everyone being so proud of Chihaya for being able to pass all her exams was adorable. She has great friends, and seeing the way the Empress cares, enough to very undignifiedly yell from the second level to catch Chihaya before she left, is one thing that won't ever get old, consdiering how cold she was at the beginning, and that i thought she was going to be another obstable to hurdle over, for way longer than she was. NOW ALLOW ME TO SCREAM ABOUT THAT MESSAGE TAICHI SENT ARATA A BIT, BECAUSE MY GOSH, THAT WAS QUITE THE MOVE TAICHI!!!!! What? Declaring my obsession over this one boy that I've known since childhood, and how I want him to keep his sight on me can be considered queer, whaaaat? Lol I love them, I swear.
