DanDaDan Season 2: Episode 4 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

I loved this episode so much! Momo was such an MVP in all this - I love her showing her intelligence and ability in this episode - it was indeed wonderful! And her conviction to putting the Kito family in their place! The showing up of Seiko, Taro, Mantis Man, and Chiquita was SO surprising - I was not expecting it with Manjiro! It also establishes Evil Eye as such threat if even SEIKO has to show up! That is actually hilarious for Seiko to still be in denial of Mantis Man being an alien! XD I hadn’t thought of it that way! I honestly expected Okarun to show up, too, and “save the day” but I like the subversion that one of our MC’s is not going to be the “hero” and TARO of all characters is the one to be the seal for Evil Eye! I honestly was expecting what you were to happen, so I like that what I was anticipating happening was not the final result - it made for a delight of a surprise this week! I’m curious as well to what will happen with Evil Eye and I can’t wait to find out and see if it’s like the Silky or Turbo Granny situation at all! And SERIOUSLY - that hug between Momo and Okarun at the end?! LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE IT! More please! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Hahahaha, right?! I guess that’s equivalent to me questioning Jiji running with two fully-formed teenagers in his arms - SHONEN LOGIC! XD And we’ll say, “MAGIC” too! Haha! I agree - we didn’t get a clear idea of where the Kito family went - there’s a lot of mystery surrounding them, so “HMMM” indeed! And yes, Seiko is definitely a “representative of the past” in aspects, ideas of masculinity being one of them! But she at least knows her way around a bat – *sips tea and walks away* Thank you for the comment!

This episode was so good! I loved seeing Momo's ingenuity in how she handles all these situations. From using the goo from the worm to cool down the lava, and using the worm itself as a sort of hose, to just refusing to let the Kito family win and perpetuate their ignorance and bias by happestance. It was wonderful. Seeing grandma Seiko appear with the Mantis guy, Taro, Chuiquitita and a full-blown space ship was super unexpected and so cool, too! I was NOT expecting her to come here since she had explicitely sent Momo to deal with this whole thing, but I'm glad to see that she had a plan in motion all along. What did kill me with laughter was seeing how she still refuses to believe in aliens, as she keeps calling the Mantis guy a "Kappa", as if he were a yokai, and not an alien *lol* I wonder what she made of riding in a space ship and all. The moment that Evil Eye appears, I kept waiting for Okarun to appear as well, after all, if Evil Eye could get out surely he could as well, which kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole thing. Sealing Evil Eye inside Taro was so cool, and not how I thought we were going to deal with him; I thought that we were going to have a talk-no-jitsu and have Momo and Okarun be able to bring JIji to the forefront and control Evil Eye, and that might still happen, I don't know, but I like this choice for the moment a whole lot. I wonder what will happen with Evil Eye now. After all, we had Turbo Granny having to be forcefully removed from Okarun, and unwittingly leaving him her powers; and Acrobatic Silky leaving her essence in Aira when she saved her life; so, I'm really looking forward to see how this third case is handled. All I need to say to end this comment is that the hug at the end, with Momo just resting against Okarun, had my heart, it was so sweet!

That was a fun episode so i won't question the physics of stopping a lava flow with a bit of water and worm mucus. And it's unclear how supernatural the whole Mongolian Death Worm thingy was so perhaps a bit of magical properties there too. I wouldn't think much of the rest of the town knows what the Kito family is up to (atleast now in modern times, and perhaps their weird looks and grey blood is just a visual representation of their moral decay) as it doesn't seem like Manjiro and by extension Seiko would allow it if it was in any way known. Speaking of the Kito family, where did they go? We don't want them to get away as they are murderers and sex pests. Did we even see the women (except the matriarch) at all after they got eaten by the worm? Yeah Seiko definitely has expressed some perhaps less than progressive views on masculinity, she had a few jabs at Okarun last season.
