This movie had been on the never-ending back burner for me, so THANK YOU BeHappy for commissioning this - I've seen Deadpool and Deadpool 2, but honestly? You can walk into this movie with no experience and still get so much out of it -- ooohhh, but there was so much for me to fangirl with in this movie - it was a bloody, vulgar, hilarious ride!
NOTE: I did not do a PIP Reaction for obvious reasons, so apologies for the need to sync up on this one, but it's worth it - this movie is great!

And yesss, the movie benefits a lot by focusing more on Wolverine's earlier IP runs in the 2000's than focusing on connecting to the previous two Deadpool movies, which totally works to its advantage! It's such a rare occurrence, but it worked well, here! And ooohh TOXIC BL ROMCOM DAY! It should be a national holiday, right? :P I can so see the VashWood and WolverPool connections and I live for it! Does that make Cassandra more akin to Legato? :P hahaha!! There are so many options with both series in all honesty! And yeah, themes of resistance EVERY WHERE! And yes, resisting that impact of despair, self-doubt, nihilism, those were all great and meta-resistance! And yessss, I had known of the cancelled Gambit film, so that was a meta resistance element too -- that and Deadpool making fun of being a Disney property now, which is probably why they upped the gore in this one; because they could and were almost slapping in Disney's face! YES! Thank you for the comment and support as always; this film and Super Mario Bros. seemed like such a great pairing...now...to see if your commission matches up with the commission for this coming week! Hm. We shall see, I suppose! ;)

It’s funny, as I was concerned about missing out on a lot of gags – but honestly, there ended up being more references to 2000s-early 2010s media and corporate IP battles than anything post-Endgame. 😂 I should not have worried. But generally feel very similarly to what you described – I’d been told before that a film (where some character has an associated show or show appearance) is fine by itself, but I personally find that to be rarely the case. I also watched this the same day as the Trigun Maximum Vol 13 read – so ended up having a toxic BL romcom day. 🤣 Really enjoyed all that commentary in the reaction. And now I can totally see a Trigun!AU for this with a Deadpool!Vash and Wolverine!Wolfwood. But if keeping to Vol 13 – maybe a Wolverine!Legato?! Though maybe that’d need an irredeemable!Wolverine-version from one of the other ‘verses. 🤣 Themes of resistance?... All over this one, again – especially in terms of resisting the impact of despair, self-doubt and all the nihilism. But there was also this layer of (this is so hilarious to me) – meta-resistance! 🤣 The fact that the audience kind of has to be aware of various corporate shenanigans, and who owned IP rights when and things that went wrong (like the cancelled (?) Gambit film with Tatum) – is definitely an interesting choice. And then the commentary around multiverse nonsense. This was a really fun romp! And paired very nicely with Super Mario Bros. Thank you to BeHappy for this commission! 🥰 Looking forward to next week! 💙
