There is a LOT happening this week, as parts and pieces are moving closer and closer -- Gu Xiang and Cao WeiNing are on the move towards the Gentle Wind sect, The Alluring Ghost and crew are fighting to keep the TragiComic ghost safe, and The Scorpion King is making some REVELATIONS that could alter the course of the story!
Oh, and our boys are bonding like a darn found family. Aw.
Let's hope that good feeling with them lasts, right?

That moment was TERRIFYING of him tearing a man’s skin off and then gently approaching the camp fire – what the eff?! It’s insane…yeah, deeply sad as well. I agree that it’s interesting how he views the Ghost Valley as a necessity towards revenge but they see it as almost a sanctuary or last resort to escape the horrors of the world - disconnect, indeed! I agree, the TragiComic and Alluring Ghosts have provided that safe haven for women in similar circumstances as well. The double standard is THERE. But you can see why he views that place as more dangerous than a sanctuary as it was before. ZZS not being good at telling stories is hilarious! Of course he wouldn’t be good at it! 😛 And yessss, if ZZS wants WKX to take care of CL after he’s gone, this is a subtle way of him pushing WKX towards that point. Thank you for the comment! I cannot wait for these later episodes!

I think because of censorship, they didn not dwell on that moment for too long, but in the BTS photos I sent you on discord, he has this totally blank, thousand yard stare while standing there above all the ghosts. It feels both intimidating and deeply sad. I really like how WKX seems kind of baffled by the female ghosts wanting to return to Ghost Valley. It’s the same reaction he had with the two girls Gu Xiang tried to take in. It subtly shows the disconnect between how he sees the Valley and how they see it, like "Of all places, why would you want to go back there when you can go anywhere???” The Tragicomic and Alluring Ghosts create this kind of strange safe haven for women who have been cast out by society. The other male ghosts are scheming and fighting by Scorpion King's side to get out of Ghost Valley. They are described in the episode as being in the Valley because they are violent, with blood on their hands. And what did Alluring Ghost do before coming there? She had an affair and got publicly humiliated. The double standard is… uhh not great. So honestly, I get why the women wouldn’t want to leave. But I also understand why WKX is harsher this time and just pushes them out. Everyone is watching Ghost Valley now. Zhao Jing and Scorpion are out there killing more people in their name. Tragicomic Ghost, the one who could protect them, is out of commission. It really doesn’t look good to go back right now... ZZS pushing CL on to WKX because he sucks at telling stories is just so funny 🤣. Because yeah of course the guy who, as a kid, did not often go out to play and keep studying sucks at that. He is the parent who goes "Tonight he is your kid only, I need to sleep". But I think it's also way to make WKX more involved in caring for CL, from making CL call WKX "shishu" (junior master) to leaving WKX alone with CL. Previously when WKX was trying to chime in to teach CL martial arts, ZZS was annoyed and complained that "who is his master? You or me?" lol

2025-06-28 00:30:47 +0000 UTCI was very awed when Liu Qianqiao fought back against lustful ghost. Earlier she conceded that out of the top 10 ghosts, she was the weakest, but she still fought back anyways to save herself and the Tragicomic ghost. It reminded me a lot of ghostfire Hua Cheng trying to fend off White No Face even though he knows he’s doomed to lose. Liu Qianqiao in the past, naked and beaten at the lowest point in her life, but coming across the Tragicomic Ghost, who she would fight doomed battles for, is very body in the abyss heart in paradise. When I watched up to this episode for the first time I felt this juxtaposition of What Liu Qianqiao would do for Tragicomic ghost vs. What Yue Qiufeng would do for Liu Qianqiao. Qiufeng is trying his best, but I think he fumbled a lot during these past few episodes. Even though Qianqiao tries dissuading him from using the Tragicomic ghost as leverage against Zhao Jing, he does so anyways, and it only provokes Zhao Jing. When their residence is invaded Qiufeng's first instinct is to run and save himself while Qianqiao has to engage in a losing battle. This mirrors their past when his wife was taking her anger out on Qianqiao, Qiufeng didn't intervene. I think Qiufeng really is trying his best, but I felt really disappointed with how much he fumbled things so far with what we’ve seen. Meanwhile Qianqiao has fully locked in to save the Tragicomic ghost, she disobeyed Wen Kexing's order to not break her out of prison, she conspired with her ex, she stayed and fought, and she begged all for the Tragicomic ghost. To me, it seemed like Qianqiao was doing more for the Tragicomic ghost than Qiufeng was doing for Qianqiao so far. When Qianqiao was first introduced in the series, she seemed so badass and femme fatale, I did not expect this trajectory for her character where she would be struggling and fighting so much in a rapidly changing world. It's really easy to root for her, so I was really glad the Scorpion King spared her & the Tragicomic ghost's lives!
