Since Irv is a more creative person, different parts of his brain are more developed than a non-creatives, of course leaving deficits in other areas. It may be that they haven’t tested as much with “creatives” and there may be some memory transfer between one self and the other in the form of dreams or visions.

Brian Strickland

Really enjoyed your talk towards the end regarding doing it for money or because they’re true believers. The author you’re trying to think of is L. Ron Hubbard, who started Scientology. Regarding Irv and his paintings, I think someone told him to paint this image to try to get through to his innie. I don’t think his outie has actually seen the exports hall. I just don’t see how that would’ve been possible. Based off what he says to the person on the phone and how his innie talks I think it’s clear he’s not reintegrated. So I don’t know how he would’ve set eyes on it. I think someone who has seen it, like Reghabi, has told him what it looks like and is having him try to communicate the image to his innie.

Crawnch!

So keep in mind that we’ve seen Irving’s outtie doing some pretty interesting things. He stays up all night listening to metal music and painting the same picture of the exports hallway elevator over and over again, which may be what is causing Innie Irving’s dreams of the Black sludge to come through when he falls asleep. We also see in the season 1 finale that Irving has a list of names of all of the severed employees at Lumon, something at other severed employees definitely wouldn’t have, as it would defeat the purpose of staggering their exits so they don’t know who they work with. After his phone call, it’s pretty clear he had some sort of agenda, and was trying to communicate with his Innie in some way. For what purpose? Who is to say?
