The Story…

For centuries there have long been battles between whether Humans or Pokemon were the dominant species. At times, they were friendly, at times they were hostile. Pokemon and Humans constantly taking the throne only to be overthrown when new technology or species were discovered.

In the modern era there are two major players: Paperhouse, an underground company that has holds in every major agency worldwide, constantly researching, constantly taking mons and breaking them until they can’t do anything but worship humans. And the Keygen Company, headed by a shiny gardevoir who’s hellbent on turning the tides and making pokemon the dominant species again.

While Paperhouse developed a variety of chemicals to give their human hunters an advantage in battle, Keygen was busy setting up shell companies across the globe. ‘Buy a high level pokemon for cheap’, they advertise, ‘Sweep gyms without breaking a sweat!’…

Of course, when things are too good to be true, often they are. For instance, a trainer down on his luck with the local Water Type gym decided to get an electric type who’d clear the gym for him. It was affordable, and the site had nothing but good reviews.

And in a few hours, he’ll be leaving one of those reviews with a pikachu blowing him under the desk…
