We could have gotten more backstories about the first and second hokage, particularly the time period following madara's defeat. We never saw how Hashirama met Mito Uzumaki and how she became the first vessel for Kurama. We never saw how the first and second died. Tobirama was presumably killed by the cloud brothers who had the nine tails chakra whereas it was never stated how Hashirama died. It was likely Kakuzu who was hired to assassinate him.
