There's a lot of forced dialogue in this episode intended to show you how much each character uses their top word. It makes all the interactions sound really weird.

2024-12-16 02:36:04 +0000 UTCI can understand Madison not liking kinkaku and ginkaku cuz I felt the same first watch and still don't care for them much, but i was surprised baris thought so too since he's seen this show already and these characters are pretty important for future events. Maybe didn't remember, but This fight becomes incredibly important later on for plot reasons, and these characters also actually build off of past scenes. When we see the second hokago huddled together with young danzo and hiruzen, the second hokago stayed behind and sacrificed his life and it's revealed he was fighting kinkaku and ginkaku.

From the Naruto wiki trivia section: Both Kinkaku and his brother are likely based on two characters from the Chinese classic Journey to the West. In this story, Kinkaku and Ginkaku are two demon king brothers, known as the Great King Kinkaku (金角大王, Kinkaku-daiō) and the Great King Ginkaku (銀角大王, Ginkaku-daiō). Kinkaku and Ginkaku are also temples in Kyōto, Japan. The Temple of the Gold Pavilion is called Kinkaku and the Temple of the Silver Pavilion is called Ginkaku.

I enjoyed the episode overall. I actually thought the fight was enjoyable and engaging. For me I would ranked the episode 7 out of 10
