Madison has protested! She wanted to watch the upcoming filler episodes. Most of it seemed "mid" to me. Though, I'm not entirely sure if that's true.
After doing some research on this next batch of filler episodes, I've decided that we will watch 176 - 179. I've also NEVER seen these episodes before and they're apparently about Iruka (whom we love) So, it should be exciting!!
After 179, we will proceed to watching the cannon episodes beginning from 197.
The reaction to 176 will be out in a few hours from now!!

I think all the filler from the beginning of the war onward should be watched.

2024-08-29 22:57:18 +0000 UTCMake no mistake, in terms of positioning in the list of episodes and actual episode quality, most of the fillers are terrible. They ruin the flow of the story quite a bit. The difference is that both you and I have seen the show in its entirety... Therefore fillers are now new to us whereas the main show isn't. We also do not care much about the flow anymore because we already know what happens... But when it was first airing I remember that it was torture. One episode would end on a cliffhanger and the next one was filler and we had no clue when that would happen, how long it would last and wether it would be good or not. Dragon Ball did fillers much better in the sense that they either increased the length of main story battles by adding filler scenes or they had filler episodes inbetween arcs... Not in the middle.

2024-08-29 22:48:20 +0000 UTCWhen you mean war fillers you mean the initial battles? Or even the stuff after the god tree and ten tails? Cuz the war filler makes the war seem bigger so regardless it should be watched for the feeling it brings... But the tree tsukuyomi filler is hit or miss.

I never appreciated the filler because I was watching it when it first came out, so I thought they were annoying because they interrupted the main story. I appreciate them now because they are a good slice of life to the story. Anyways thank you for the reactions.

2024-08-21 01:11:00 +0000 UTCThis probably sounds terrible, but I've never much cared for Iruka lol. He's pretty bland and generic. He's the first person to accept Naruto and yet he's so often absent from the story that it's difficult to buy that they're even close. It's hard to get invested in his character when they never did anything semi-major with him after the beginning of the series.
