Sasuke could've ended this fight a lot sooner if his intention was to kill Deidara, but it wasn't. He doesn't use any high caliber ninjutsu against him. The finale of the fight even showcases that Sasuke clearly read all of Deidara's moves. On top of that, he doesn't even use his trump card.."Kirin" on him. That's not plot saving him whatsoever. It was made painfully obvious that he held back a significant deal to extract intel.

Even though it’s a standard 1v1 you can see the strategies and adaptions both Deidiara and Sasuke employ to overcome adversity. It’s still crazy to think Sasuke was still holding back somewhat. Tell Madison not to sleep on Dediara tho, I imagine at this point of the story Dediara could beat Naruto fairly easily

On top of that, he needed Tobi to plant mines for him. He's not weak or anything, but he would've never gotten as far as he did if Sasuke was going for the kill lol.

Sasori believed that art was something that would last forever, even turning himself into art, yet he died so early on. He was the first member to die. Deidara thought that art was something that only existed in an instant, yet his ultimate masterpiece left a scar on the earth that would last forever. Kakuzu was so confident in himself because of how long he had lived, viewing other ninja as brats. He was defeated by something that had never been done before. The new taking out the old. I talked about Hidans death in a previous video.
