I love the fillers, and I am glad you're doing them! I wish you had done the Sora arc because it would have made Asuma's death more impactful. Also, I don't know if this is the case for Shippuden, but the creator confirmed that in the case of Boruto, the anime, including episodes that don't appear in the manga, are, in fact, canon. To be honest, I don't really see why it matters. It is more time to spend with characters I love in scenarios I may not have been able to see otherwise. Getting upset about what did or did not happen in an entire series that never happened, in reality, is just silly to me.
