Naruto Shippuden Reaction Ep. 48

Comments

Baris right to an extent about Naruto being seemingly selfish but at the same time the Leaf can't allow Orochimaru to get his hands on the Sharingan even though Sasuke left on his own accord. But that's why a certain arc that rhymes with "train" is when Naruto's maturity takes a big boost and eventually when they meet at the gathering of the five great leaders he showed great maturity and accepted that the worst could happen. We are just watching Naruto go from an adolescent into more of a man

Noah Jones

Naruto is almost treating Sasuke like a dog who ran away and he's going to bring him home whether he likes it or not.

Peter

Sasuke is the bitch of the entire serie tho 😂

I'm trying to cancel my subscription but having trouble doing so. I'm just gonna come back in a year when ten more episodes are uploaded. The uploads take way too long.

Michael Fonseca

everything you said was valid, however im not sure youre looking at it from this specific perspective; naruto was an orphan, in a way like sasuke. so hes unable to properly put things into perspective on it being selfish. in naruto's mind, he's just trying to save his friend, and im sure theres some mental and pycological things that come into play too. its like a person whos always been taken advantage of finally meets someone who treats them decently. and when that other person leaves, the person will spend years chasing the other persons validation, even if they have to convince themself that they can win the other person back. strangely, sasuke is attempting to do the same thing with his brother. people who have emotional trauma will sometimes even replicate the chasing process within another person, the same way that it was done to them, whether purposely or not.

Yin & Juno

IM SO READY FOR THE NEXT ARC CUZ THIS ONE IS KINDA BORING 👌🏻

Eddy

Nice

J t

Im sorry but the situation of sasuke is worse. He has left the village and joined Orochimaru for power. His drug is power and his consequence is the loss of his life and body. It is even worse than drugs. Not to mention that Sasuke is a danger now. Worst case scenario Orochimaru gets his body and uses it to destroy the leaf. This means that Sasuke has to be dealt with... And Naruto is choosing to try and save him instead of killing him.

mario

For him, I'm sure

Tmirror23

Naruto movie time!✨ can’t wait

D D

I wrote something similar and I said we don’t have the luxury of going so far in the real world cuz it would impact us to greatly but that’s what makes naruto special, it does affect him but he never gives up. I would’ve killed sasuke a long time ago. We’re only human and don’t know what’s always the right thing to do but I knew being in service of someone and for their own character or integrity is the furthest thing from being selfish.

Diego Hill

To be selfish is to be chiefly concerned with one’s personal profit or pleasure! With how much pain and heart ache Naruto is going through, there’s no possibly way anyone can call that selfish. They have different perspectives, but If he left sasuke alone and it ended up badly, naruto couldn’t live with himself. He’s done it for countless people, why wouldn’t he do it for sasuke. Personally because of my life I would’ve cut sasuke off, I relate him to someone who’s lost on drugs, gangs and a evil path. In the real world we don’t have the luxury to save people and pursue them our whole lives, but rather simply say we have to set boundaries cuz it could impact us to greatly and then Naruto’s whole story is him taken that burden. To me it’s beautiful and the furthest thing from selfish I’ve ever seen.

Diego Hill

And saying it’s self-destructive sounds stupid asf but again people like you and Baris have not had real friends going through life terrible choices and situations to where you’d do everything you could to helpe them from going down negative paths. So, keep your opinions to yourself my guy.

KJiggidy

That’s your opinion, idc if you agree or disagree with Baris. I don’t accept other’s opinions just because you like them and wanna agree because he shares your negative point of view. To me. It’s not selfish. So we’ll leave it al that.

KJiggidy

I agree with Baris here too. Naruto's selfish actions endangers everyone around him. There's nothing "noble" about what he's doing. It's self-destructive.

DomzTunes

Naruto's selfishness endangers everyone around him. I 100% agree with you Baris. He just gets his way because he's the main character.

DomzTunes

Naruto needs to analyze things from Sasuke's perspective which he did later on but it was poorly done IMO

DomzTunes

Oh Naruto certainly has selfish motives. Altruism doesn't exist. Imagine if your best friend left to do something you didn't agree with and you just let them go and never did anything. Sure there's part of it that is him caring for Sasuke but do you think it is more THAT which motivates him or the fact that otherwise he would have to spend the rest of his life wondering if there's anything he could have done? People are mostly self-driven that's just how it is.

Ogre328

I hate when they're polite about Hiruzen. I hate that guy lmfao

Ezekiel Jaramillo

Itachi took everyone form sasuke so he is goin after itachi, and naruto thinks orochimaru took sasuke from him, so naruto is goin after orochimaru, so he's basically doing the same sh*t as sasuke, except sasuke has more valid reasons and motivation to go after itachi.

ArchetypePreston

Someone who cares about you though would see that revenge is not going to help you feel better and that Sasuke detached from the world. That’s why Naruto is trying so hard to prove to Sasuke that connections are worth it and to be his friend, because he knows what truly will help him is to have a healthy connection to someone who cares about him through thick and thin. The EASY answer would be to continue and help him take Itachi out, but that would not help Sasuke. Shoot even after he did, he just shifted all his hate to the next, and the next.

MT0012

I agree with you Baris, that's what I've been thinking as well all this time. Naruto is doing this for himself. if he was a true friend he would help sasuke achieve his goal and not try to pull him away from it. Also not once in this show did we get a moment between them that really sealed them as bein "Best friends" , Naruto and Shikamaru seem more as best friends then sasuke and naruto. There was some rivalry goin on and them saving each others life but that's what everyone does in this show, saving each other. but nothing really that gave them that bond that Naruto is talking about. But hey without this plot we wouldn't have had shippuden.

ArchetypePreston

Honestly, I agree with Baris because Sasuke has said from day 1 that his mission in life is to kill Itachi, and to do that he needs power. Itachi being one of the strongest characters in this anime. At first, Kakashi was enough, and later on the goal was to kill off Naruto to obtain the MS like Itachi told Sasuke to do, but he chose not to, he chose a different path. Sasuke *willingly* went with Orochimaru to learn and grow powerful in order to kill Itachi. That is all he wants. He doesn’t even want to be a Shinobi per se, or do XYZ. His singular goal is to kill his brother. Period. No matter what it takes. The ends justify the means. This is akin to treason because just a few chapters back Orochimaru killed the 3rd Hokage. No matter the friendship or brotherly love. There’s a co-dependent relationship here in which Sasuke wants ABC but Naruto wants, no demands that Sasuke do XYZ. So these arguments aren’t baseless at all.

Jaime Arredondo

I mean is just a show, is like pokemon, you are fighting to be the best pokemon master and chilling with friends but actually you are taking animals away from their family, home and locked them in tiny capsules just to get them fight the very next moment and getting money out of it, but the show is cool haha

Axell Gallegos

Naruto is in love with Sasuke and we all know that

Axell Gallegos

I don't really think it's all that important to debate selfish vs selfless. I don't think any of it is selfless. Naruto understands characters like Sasuke, Gaara, Haku and many more and is simply trying to pull his friend from a destructive path regardless of Sasuke's choice. Naruto got through to Gaara and even Zabuza in the end, and here he won't give up on Sasuke either. That is to say he won't give up on the good in Sasuke. Pretty common theme in anime, selfish and all.

CYBRLFT

After you chose to start taking them, usually because life sucks in some manner. Sasuke went through about the worst thing imaginable. Orochimaru forced him to get that first taste of power. He resisted a while, then Itachi comes back in and brings up all that old trauma, and Sasuke 'relapses' hard. It's very comparable. Sasuke is very obviously on the road to ruin, and doesn't want help - it's textbook. Ironically, they say you have to let the addict hit rock bottom, but if you've ever had to experience it. It's hard not to try and help or control the situation. It's very stressful, not something you'd want. I don't see what Naruto is doing as selfish at all. The kind of argument Baris is making, can be applied universally. Everyone is selfish if you want to go down that debate. Like, does true selflessness exist? Even if you do something good, you wanted to do it right? On the scale of self-serving to acting in someone else's best interest, Naruto leans very much to the latter.

Chillguy

I totally agree that Naruto is selfish. In fact if you look at his personality type which is ENFJ you'll come to see his actions are based entirely on his own emotional desires. It's not for the benefit of Sasuke. It's solely to fill the hole in his heart. Everything has to go Narutos way and he always throws a tantrum to get what he wants. Naruto is the most annoying character in the show. In fact people who are like this in real life are also annoying as fuck.

Amazon Rocks

I couldn't have said it better myself. Sasuke was fully aware of what he was doing and however terrible the decision was, you can't save someone that doesn't want to be saved. As a friend, you have to accept that decision.

NARIOUS DIXON

someone else said something like this in the comments the difference is that drugs start to have control over you once you get to a certain point but nothings really controlling sasuke

Alex Noel

the power was worth it

Alex Noel

this is kinda different, in a way drugs control you but nothings controlling sasuke he knows full well what he wants

Alex Noel

I mean they’re still kids. It’s just as seeing your best friend do drugs or something bad, you wouldn’t just sit there and let them sink low

Hyphenz

i completely disagree. If you have a friend doing drugs and going deeper and deeper into the abyss you don't just let them in their privacy... It isn't helpful no matter how much they say it is.

mario

I think if you look at Narutos motives as selfish then you're right to feel that way. But you could look at all good deeds as selfish and self serving. Most people get a satisfaction from doing good for other and you don't know if that satisfaction is the reason for their good deeds or not. I know Sasuke is a popular character because people can empathize with his story and emo personality. I personally don't care for Sasuke all that much because HIS selfishness has negative affects on more than just him, whether it be intentional not. It's at least clear that he doesn't care as long as he gets power

Tmirror23

I definitely see your point. Even if Naruto has the best of intentions, he is still not mature enough to realize he can't force someone to see things his way. I also agree with you that if he really is Sasuke's friend, he should respect this is the path he's chosen, even if Naruto disagrees with it. I respect that you two at times have perspectives I haven't heard from other reactors, it makes me see certain events in a different light.

Aaron Pendleton

Helping people make the healthy and safe choices in their life isn't being selfish. If my friend really wants to drink 8 beers and then hop into his car and drive home it isn't selfish of me to try and get him to not do that. Naruto sees what Sasuke is doing as being dangerous for not only himself but for many others who could be affected by Orochimarus plans. Sasuke drank his 8 beers, Naruto really wants to stop him from getting into the car. I get where you're coming from Baris but this is a little different than Sasuke's choice of outfit or where he's eating lunch.

Eric

I think naruto has seen the good in sasuke we all have he put his life on the line for naruto at the bridge his body moved on its own because he was precious to sasuke, he put his life on the line against garaa and told naruto to protect sakura he is a good person deep down , but the path of revenge doesnt end well like kakashi told him in part 1 , sasuke is heading down the path of evil , if my friend was doing these things and i knew his true nature id do the same thing as naruto its not selfish helping a friend in need ever.

William Pahau

Naruto going hard for Sasuke is similar to seeing a family member becoming an addict. He basically just wants to help him even if he doesn't want it. It's not really that selfish. It's self destructive for his own health thou. I personally would never go that far for someone. I dont have the patience for it but I seen it work for other people who are walking a dark path like Sasuke.

Alex Ucles

Naruto always did shikamaru dirty, he's his real best friend, the one who's been there for him since they were kids, because his dad never cared if he played with naruto or not

Eduardo Vega

I gotta agree with Baris, this is what Sasuke wants and I don't think Naruto's willing to accept it, because it goes against what he thinks/wants. Aside from that, I actually understand Sai's character to a point. He's been in the Anbu his whole life, it's all he knows, and it's all he was taught. Sakura and Naruto come from a different world than him, which is why he seems so different (for lack of a better word) to them.

Kraze_X9

Bro, it’s not selfish. You’re looking at the situation with a wrong perspective, you never had a friend (whom you considered a brother or close to being somewhat like a brother) going through hard and troubled times to even understand that to even try and help even when you know they are in the wrong. Besides that, this is what makes Naruto who he is and what makes him strive as one of the best protagonists of Anime in general. Unless you can relate, don’t say it’s selfish when you don’t have a clue whatsoever. At least Madison understands the situation and pointed out the connections with Haku and Zabuza, and Sai’s situation too. Thats the beauty of the writing. All you, any others who feel like you do, have are nothing but false assumptions, Baris. Leaving wrongful opinions aside, good reaction tho.
