Not sure how many of you remember Spooky Starlets: Pixel Pornstars, but we've kind of been stuck with that one for a while. Things originally started out great- but then things slowed down with our pixel artist and we had to eventually split ways with them.
Since then, our programmer, came up with a way for us to smoothly transition from a pixel style to a vector style. However, at the same time I was also researching and developing out some 3D assets for use in future projects- as I'd like any further Starlets spin-offs or sequels to be in 3D, so that film creation can be customized more.
It was then I realized we could take the 3D pipeline I've been working on and combine it with the game mechanics of Pixel Pornstars- allowing us to have a relatively simple game that we could attach to our 3D tech demo.
So, I bring you ChromaBEAT, which will be replacing Pixel Pornstars, and is effectively the same project, but has changed a lot since it's first conceptions and iterations.
Our main focus is still Spooky Starlets. The work I am doing on ChromaBeat is personal experimentation I am doing on the side, with 3D assets being handled by new teammembers- the main TinyHat Alpha team is still fully focused on improving and wrapping up Starlets.
In fact, we hope to see Spooky Starlets completed by the end of 2021.
But since we're making steady progress on Starlets, I want to make sure that I have the next project ready for the main team to switch to so that Patrons will be able to not have a huge gap between projects, when it comes to content and builds.
So yeah- here's a quick peek at some of what our B-team, including myself, have been able to put together for ChromaBEAT so far.
All of this stuff is subject to change still, but I've finally gotten it to a point where I feel it's worth sharing. For now Pixel Pornstars is still on the Steam listing, but once we have enough materials we'll get that updated over to ChromaBEAT. Feel free to hit us up in the Discord and let us know what you think, we would love to hear your feedback about this new project!
