Some context btw: Asmon lost his mother and was already on a decline beforehand with having to take care of her constantly, also being raised in the same environment he would go on to cultivate himself. It’s not an excuse per se but he has his reasons for the way he is. And in his apology he just said him realizing how mean and awful he was being was a wake up call for him to make changes. Cleaning his kitchen was a start. Everyone starts somewhere. But it’s hard to get started when you’re doing your best and getting shit on for trying because you’re “not trying hard enough”

I understand Jackson's distanced perspective of Asmongold, but I think it's rude to hate on him so vehemently. He didn't justify his actions by cleaning his room. He saw it as a seperate opportunity to be healthy. Unrelated to that, hes been acknowleging his decline of treating people he disagreed with in an angry or negative way, or lumping whole groups of people in his criticisms of extremism. He directly explained his anger about descructive cultures, and then people twisted his words (which I think was more about his view of dark religious extremism creating a culture he doesn't respect, rather than hating people based on race). Sure asmongold is damaged and unhealthy with his habits for taking care of himself. It's not like he says otherwise. He constantly says that he treats his body like a zoo and not a temple and to avoid that at all means. He obviously has bad habits engendered by how his parent's raised him coupled with his trauma of losing his mother. But he wasn't using any of this as some cushion to clean his image and act better than he is. He shouldn't be seen as some child who isn't allowed to have opinions about the world just because of his issues. With that apology, he was openly trying to mitigate his own anger and judgement and tone (for a confusing and infuriating concept of religiously extreme people murdering others in cold blood). Like all he said wrong was that they are an inferior culture, which in turn, he meant that both sides justifications for indiscriminate murder for an entire group of people without relent was unjustified and he is tired of feeling the need to empathize with either side, which is his way of saying that murdering innocent uninvolved citizens is wrong across the board. Jackson please listen to more of his thoughts. He admits his ignorance and anger. He starts the conversation by saying he doesn't know everything. He says that living in his way is unhealthy and wrong. But also, he is articulate and expressive about moral issues in a more nuanced and honest way (or he tries to be). He invites criticism and opens debate from all sides. I've watched him for years and seen the horrors of hoarding and mental illness from his honesty. But also, I've seen a lot of fair and interesting political conversations that often are censored. He's not some chris-chan; some self described god who's actually insane. He is harsh on himself and his own shortcomings and often tries to talk about his perspective of the truth while also admiting his failures to reach it. Either way I think all people regardless of shortcomings should be encouraged to talk about the world and debate even the difficult topics, regardless of their privilege or inaccuracies, as long as they can admit when they are wrong and learn.

I would really recommend using Foobar2000, you can customize the music player, (I just use flacs, i have like 60 gbs of flacs). I don't even use spotify on my pc because it sounds terrible and I download everything on this program called Soulseek, its basically limewire but good and no viruses lol. Can't argue against most of that but will say that the being okay with corporations taking away our bought stuff was a joke, just fucking around with Kaya. But yeah, sounds like a lot of my so-called stance on life stems from me trying to protect my (online) career (in not wanting to harp on about heavy topics and shit). On privacy note, I'm pro-privacy, think govt shouldn't overstep, but as someone who doesn't have anything to hide, it's not something I really think about that much. That's not to say that I don't think invasion of privacy is bad, it's just nothing that will prevent me from putting a camera up in my yard to make it harder to break in even if the threat of govt snooping in my feeds exists. I don't know, it's a bigger talking point in the US so I get it but just not something I think about here until it comes up on the show.
