Poll Results

Okay, well, the results are in.

43% of responses favored pausing billing.

57% of responses favored leaving billing on.

There were 382 votes, which is approximately a 1/3 of all paying subscribers. I don't know if that's what pollsters would call a representative sample, but I suspect it's pretty close.

Per the results of the poll, I will be leaving billing on. For those of you who are only subscribed for Unintended Cultivator chapters, you have the option to cancel your subscription and pick it back up when I start on Volume 10. I don't have a firm schedule for that, but I suspect it won't be until early August unless I do a serious speedrun writing the rest of Isekai Terry and the move goes a lot smoother than most moves do. I will make a public announcement post when I start work on it. If i do start it early in August, be aware that I'll be writing it around moving, so the chapters may be more sporadic than you're used to.

Whelp time to start isekai terry I guess

Andrew Omeara

Wrong time to sub I guess. Literately sub 3 days ago for cultivator series and its going on break / irregular release for a month lol

Michael Gordon

That would be a good Patreon feature though…

Christopher

that is the plan

At whatever point you start posting new Unintended Cultivator chapters, I suggest that you make an announcement post that's viewable to free members. People who cancel their subscriptions have an option to stay as free members, so you can target an announcement to them for when they should consider signing back up.

*facepalms himself* ok not sure why I am miss remembering. I could have sworn I remember this. But you are correct I am not seeing the option. I apologize for bad info.

Corac

I just went and looked at one of the pages that I'm subscribed to. There's no pause option. You can change tiers or cancel, but you can't pause.

Eric Dontigney

Hum let me go look again. I remember doing this for Dotf for a month a bit ago. God I hope I'm not crazy and giving bad info. I'll look

Corac

As far as I can find, both from exploring my own settings and googling about it, pausing subscriptions is exclusively for creators - a creator can pause billing for all of their patrons, but a patron cannot pause their own subscription to a creator. Patrons can cancel their subscriptions, but they'll have to remember on their own to sign up again later if they want to.

Douglas Miller

Yeah, that's another one I need to finish...someday.

Eric Dontigney

Wooo! I get to keep reading! Lol But seriously, I just started Jericho Lott and I really don't want to lose access to it... 🀣

Rallaster

I sub just for UC. But i dont mind waiting while you work on something else. I feel i have gotten a lot of entertainment out of subbing to you. A month or two of "downtime" doesnt really bother me. As long as there is a plan and the new stuff isnt replacing UC all together im fine to wait lol.

Jeremy Patrick

Pay per post would be pretty mercenary given, as you say, my usual output.

Eric Dontigney

Woooo! I get more story! You get more money! I was going to suggest switching to a pay-per-post model but given your herculean output I feared for my wallet lol. Very glad I'll get to keep reading

Neal Callahan

Just a side note they don't have to unsub to you. They can pause the sub in there control panel for a certain amount of time. That way it starts back up in a month or 2 if they need it to.
