HEY Y'ALL! Here's me testing the longest loop of wire in the history of mankind!
Have a great July!

Testing the LONGEST LOOP OF WIRE!!! to Turn a Lamp On

I wonder what would happen if you used a giant LOOP of wire instead of two wires placed X meters apart. If you had 1km of wire in a loop (circle) you should be able to measure a delay, if any. I did this with my son using a red LED laser and a road reflector that was about 1km away and a rotating disk and a slit. We measured the speed of light by looking at the time it took to get to the reflector and back (2km).

That's true twisting it would add to the length a bit, but not as much as 50%! I think it is closer to 1.5%. So within the margin of error.

Long time since I worked with cat5, now it's cat7A, does the cat5 cable have VOP= printed on it?

Great video. Unfortunately, it was the last straw for Veritasium, who fell off my subscription list with his video for being too click-bait and messing up the science.

I would actually like to see you take it one step further and terminate both ends of the transmission line so there aren't any visible reflections.

It is so cool to see these theories proven in real world tests. Great video as always! Thanks!

This is a particularly good video. I've never seen such a clear measurement of the speed of light.
