I'm going to have to rent a cloud GPU tomorrow to finish up, but I'm very close. I'd recommend waiting if you don't like spoilers, but I wanted to post something.

Full disclosure, I did end up running this by a French speaker before I posted, and they didn't mention any of that stuff (they did have other corrections though that I was able to incorporate). I feel kind of dumb, because the whole point of doing a French transformation was for you to be able to critique it. I'm just short on time so I probably won't be able to make any changes to the voice at this point. I think I might make a discord server so I can get faster feedback going forward. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to comment -- what I see you saying is not that it's technically incorrect, but that it could be better. Unfortunately I just need to move forward at this point. I hope that's reasonable.

2024-06-10 11:16:06 +0000 UTCHello, I can give you some insight regarding the French text: Globally it's OK and the French makes sense. But it feels as English was fed into an automated translator. I noted a few sentences: - "Pas pratique" would sound more like spoken language than "Peu pratique" (0:48) - "que je me pencherai" (0:56): In this context simple futur doesn't work (it feels written), I can only imagine somebody using the near futur: "que je vais me pencher" - "C'est pas grave" or "Ça va aller" instead of "C'est bon" (1:00) Also when she says "Comment dit-on ?" (1:13) near the end, I feel her accent shifting a bit toward French Canadian. They tend to mix more French and English in their sentences, and as she then says "clean", this could mislead the model. It could also be that in today's France, we rarely do subject-verb inversion for interogration. Someone would naturally say "Comment on dit ?" Overall, I think this is quite good, but a bit fast on the mental change. I like the subliminals "Clean!", it's very nice.
