Lepidoptera - Knowledge and magic
To the north of the kingdoms, in what would become the Lepidoptera civilization, things were a bit more peaceful in the medieval period. The Moths ended up creating a complex policy, based on the philosophy discussed in large temples built with silk, which was able to bring order to the counties and villages of several Bugs that lived in the Floran forests.
The Floran, a unique species in Bugearth, much older than the Bugs, are plant beings of immense knowledge and mystical power, but unable to verbalize their thoughts, they end up keeping the hidden secrets of Bugearth to themselves.
For ages, the Floran were treated as deities by the Mantis, who called them Dryads, the spirits of the forest, thus learning to manipulate natural magic and recording it in runes, thus giving rise to the first wizards of Bugearth.
The explorations of the Flag Bearers
The Bugs of Lepidoptera, hungry for knowledge, and even founders of the first historical archives of Bugearth, founded the Great Expeditions, where the Flag Bearers, so called because they carried their family crests on their equipment, fearlessly had the task of cataloguing everything possible: from species of Bugs to entire maps of regions never explored before.
But walking through the forests of Mega-trees was always extremely dangerous, many bandeirantes ended up disappearing during their adventures, devoured by creatures, attacked by hostile Bugs or for mysterious reasons. This gave rise to the first bounty hunters, who, at the time, were Bugs hired by the aristocrats of Lepidoptera who risked themselves to find lost Flag Bearers and their catalogues in exchange for wealth and prestige.
