2022-01-15 17:37:12 +0000 UTCthank you for h265, for vr it's the superb format :) here's some more info on what PC components are needed to play h265 smoothly (this video, so 4k @ 60fps, 4:2:0 8-bit, hevc level 5.2): - NVIDIA GPU (more details: https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-and-decode-gpu-support-matrix-new): GTX 750, GTX 950-960, GT 1030 and all newer cards - AMD GPU (more details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Video_Decoder#Format_support): Radeon RX300 series and newer - Intel CPU (more details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Quick_Sync_Video#Hardware_decoding_and_encoding): Intel Tiger Lake (11th gen) and newer (tip for Rapid Banana: if you manage to drop HEVC Level to 5.1, Skylake users and newer [6th gen] will be able to enjoy smooth playback as well) as for standalone headsets, Oculus Quest, Go and Quest 2 will all suffice. for smartphone powered vr: - snapdragon: 820/821 and newer (8xx series only: 835, 855, 860, 865, 870, 888, 8 Gen 1) - iphone: 6s and newer - mediatek: idk, awful documentation, just try lol
