General Update #34

Hey there Agents!

The team is making good progress on Silent Echo's third chapter and today we'll talk about one of the upcoming evolution paths for Ava.

With great power comes great destruction

As you explore the secret underground facility, you will come across new strains of xenomaterial, most notably those engineered by some scientists in one of the labs.

Among these strains, two of them will be of interest to you: the Apex strain, and the Succubus strain. Today, we'll talk about the first one.

Diverging from her more human previous evolution, the Apex form marries deadly grace and lethal ability, taking all the best parts of Ava and reforming it to better suit her role as guardian and protector of the Agent.

However, just because she's become an even more effective killing machine than before doesn't mean she's any less interested in your body, and her newfound strength only lends to helping achieve those desires when they come.

As you delve deeper into the secret facility, her newfound ferocity will be key to help keep the dark at bay.

Overall progress

We're making good progress on Chapter 3's initial release. The entirety of the ground work is completed, Emilia's first corruption evolution is fully implemented and we've already completed work on some of the campaign content.

All around we're pretty happy with the progress being made.

Starwatch Academy

A quick note regarding Starwatch. Based on the poll's results, we've done some testing to see if Starwatch could be reworked to match Silent Echo's storytelling format.

The answer is yes and no. When it comes to using the Silent Echo dialogue style, it works great. However, for the background images, it simply doesn't work with the Starwatch palette.

With that in mind, what we're going to do first is make a pass throughout the game to update its formatting, but not do anything in regards to background images.

As this is a huge task, we've brought in external reinforcements to complete it. It will not impact our ongoing work on Silent Echo or the progress currently being made on Starwatch.
