Hello cadets and agents!
Today we have some news for you on what's happening with the games, including some info about Silent Echo's second chapter!
Version 0.4.0 has been our focus for some time and while we're overall happy with the way it plays, we have found that the way the update is currently structured causes quite an abrupt and frustrating end on Act 2's main campaign as you're left on a significant cliffhanger.
This isn't something we like very much and as such we've decided to delay the release of this update to integrate the campaign part of version 0.4.1 into version 0.4.0 instead, causing the whole initial arc to be fully playable in one go.
We also plan to make use of that time to polish expeditions, which we felt are lacking and become repetitive way too quickly.
In short, this patch needs more time in the oven to be good quality. While the writer is going to be busy working on this addition to the update, the team is moving to the development of Silent Echo 0.2.0.
So it begins! In a previous update, we showed you the rework of the paperdoll we worked on to provide a better way to manage transformations.
Last week, we completed writing Chapter 2's script and figured out everything we want to add to this new chapter. As a result, we've started development on Monday and already completed the intro sequence that takes place after the board interlude scene.
While there's going to be new encounters, enemies and everything else you can expect from a new chapter, a cool difference compared to Chapter 1 is that this time around you will have your companions with you right away.
Companions are a feature we introduced and refined over the patch releases of Chapter 1 along with their interactions, especially between other companions.
This time, as the feature is complete, we are able to integrate companion interactions right away and make them feel more natural, with more cases of companions interacting with each other.
We're making progress at a very good speed on this update, so we will have more to share about it with you in a new update next week.
Thanks for sticking with us, and have fun! More degenerate adventures at Installation Echo awaits.
