v0.3.3 update: more encounters, the first minigame, a delay and a surprise

Hello cadets!

We are continuing to make progress on the next update, however we need to delay the release by a week or two as unfortunately our writer fell sick and is currently not well enough to finish the last bits of story planned for the update. We wish him a swift recovery.

Meanwhile we are adding some extra content to the update, including the first minigame!

Yeah Science!

If you have a job at Geneforge Labs, you will have the opportunity to start working with Dr. Daniella whom is responsible of the local mod fabrication lab.

As you progress through her storyline, you will unlock the first minigame where she will ask you to sort the contents of flawed test tubes as a mean to recover as much as possible of the expensive base materials used to create mods.

Do a good enough job to impress her and win her trust, and perhaps she will be more keen to let you join her in more... experimental work ;)

Eva's Invitation

Eva is a character that is dear to our heart and seemingly to many of you as well judging by results of the previous polls. We want her to be done right and it is among the reasons we have taken so long to add new meaningful content for her.

If you have earned Eva's trust throughout orientation week, you may already have learned she has been working on a simulation of her own centered around you. In this patch, you will be able to start experiencing this simulation and learn more about her and how she see you.

We plan to expand this even further in the subsequent patch 0.3.4 and enable the first step of relationship with Eva for the players who are willing to risk it.

If you have not yet earned her trust, no worries, additional activities will allow you to raise your affinity with her.

Final note, and a surprise!

There is currently more than 100 active patrons! We thank you very much for your support. It has allowed us to spend more time working on the game and also start working on a surprise.

Starwatch Academy is a long-term project which we expect will take years to complete. There is a lot more going on out there in the world of Starwatch, and some of it has been teased through interactions with other characters, codex entries or the simulations. Although eventually you will venture to the stars in Starwatch Academy, we do not plan to make you wait for years before you get to experience what is going on out there.

Starwatch Academy is overall a positive story, and thus far the dark side of universe and its lore is not much explored.

Introducing Starwatch: Disavowed

We're happy to announce we are in active development of a shorter side story named "Starwatch: Disavowed". It is a much darker story that explores what goes on behind the pristine walls of the Alliance.

In Disavowed, you will play as a former Starwatch commander facing court-martial and execution, but saved at the last minute by the grace of the Alliance's Empress. Instead, you find yourself sentenced to the ominous Reformation at Draconis Four Penitential Facility.

What does reformation entail? What will you become at the facility? Only time will tell, but we can't wait to share this story with you!
