Plus, variations of their character melodies are used throughout the series in different tones.

2026-01-10 16:54:51 +0000 UTCWhen the Red Trailer first released, I remember thinking to myself "this is everything I've ever wanted in a show". Being a big gamer, it really felt very satisfying to watch what felt like a video game being turned into a show. After all four trailers released, I remember the Yellow trailer being the real standout for me. It was so much fun to watch. Having watched the show many times since then, I feel the White trailer is my most well-liked now. Partly because of the character, partly because I really enjoy how that fight versus the seemingly frail princess versus the huge armored foe went. Glad you liked the initiation! This show is a lot of fun for picking up little creative details that tie together.

It's the first thing the trailer says and a lot of people don't realize that is her name being said. Elijah missed it as well and Mosco would have if she hadn't reacted to it with Elijah there to be able to clarify it to her. Also Blake's design, that is her bow. I knew you would love Yang because of how sassy and badass she is. She is my favorite as well. And definitely listen to the lyrics of the songs. It's telling you a lot about the characters. Music is a big part of RWBY and I love its music.

I won't say who anyone here is, but there are a lot of clues even in these trailers as to what they're based on. Feel free to turn it into a guessing game for the rest of the show. Also, fun fact, the entirety of the Red Trailer was animated by one guy. Oh, just for clarity, I won't explain the details, but that knight that Weiss destroyed in her trailer was not an actual person.

2026-01-07 17:07:14 +0000 UTCSo. The rundown: The Red Trailer was completely animated by the series creator, Monty Oum, who choreographed the shows fights for the first two volumes (seasons). He made this as a proof of concept. Sadly, Monty passed away between Volumes 2 and 3 due to an allergic reaction and now his friends and coworkers keep the series going. Nine seasons in with V10 in production. The tombstone reads 'Summer Rose, thus kindly I scatter.' The animation after the Red Trailer was done by like... a team of ten people, animated in Poser, with a budget of whatever change was between the couch cushions. White one's name is Weiss. The music for this show is done by the Williams family. Jeff Williams wrote the music, and his daughter, Casey Lee, does the majority of the vocals. Jeff, of course, comes in for any male vocals. This father daughter duo were killer, though Casey took over writing the music when her dad retired after season 8. Casey was also only around 13 when she sang for these trailers. For anyone curious, Blake’s weapon is called a ballistic variant chain scythe. It’s a katana that collapses into a gun on a ribbon, and the sheathe doubles as a cleaver. Also, she's wearing a bow. It's not cat ears. Yang’s trailer is my favorite (I’m a sucker for hand to hand combat) and I think it’s a nice touch that the music goes through club remixes of the other trailer songs before ending on a remix of Yang’s own theme. Also, her quote is basically just 'hey, don't put me in a box, I'll smash out of it' Fun fact: Each character is based on a fairytale/legend/story. Let us know if it's okay to tell you who is who. The allusions are mostly just fun aesthetics and some are much more obvious than others. Also be aware of after credit scenes for finale episodes. And, last but not least, each Volume has a soundtrack. If that wouldn’t be too much reaction vids to those would be super fun. But I’d understand if you’d rather listen to those on your own time. Either way, I’d recommend checking them out. Have fun!
