I remember when this episode came out I saw people on Tumblr talking about little Varian with the dark shadows under his eyes. People would make up crazy stories and head canons for it. 🤣

2025-12-07 00:31:06 +0000 UTCI honestly am not a huge fan of this episode, mostly because I hate when a character changes the future to fix their issue. In this case, Eugene disagreed with her on the whole Cassandra thing. Quoting an excerpt from a reply on a Reddit thread: "Rapunzel has an argument with Eugene and finds a magical object that takes her to the past. While she's there, her interactions with Eugene changes his philosophy in such a way that he completely agrees with her when she gets back, and he doesn't remember the argument ever happening. Also, his face isn't on Cassandra's training dummy anymore, suggesting they had a slightly better relationship in the new timeline. It's unclear how many conversations would have happened differently in the timeline, how many of Rapunzel's memories this new Eugene never experienced, and vice versa." And another relevant quote excerpt: "... if he remembered what Rapunzel said to him as a teenager, does that mean he remembers everything that happened. As in would he remember the secret passages and tunnels to get into the castle. And if so doesn’t that mean he could break in at any point and steal her crown, basically resulting in Tangled never happening??" While I do think that it's a minor change in practice (in that it doesn't really affect the course of the show, or its past, you could skip this episode and nothing would feel out of place), I just don't like the concept of traveling back in time to change a character's mind on something in the present by instilling that idea in the past, because it erases the conflict, however minor, and prevents potential character development. At least imo.

And now she’s also making a sequel called alchemist return to corona which covers season three. And in her version, we actually did see a younger Cassandra!
