Also, fun fact in case no one has told you yet but Eden Espinoza who voices Cass also once played Elphaba in Wicked on stage. I feel like she really put all of that broadway talent into "Waiting in the Wings". I am a rapunzel and eugene stan, but this episode is so difficult because everyone is out here making mistakes and Cass is the only one who is right in these episodes. If they could've avoided entering the great tree or kept moving instead of resting there, who knows what different outcomes they could have had. Also, have to give an honorable mention to Lance and Eugene's song because I adore those two and their friendship. And yes, you crashing out over these kind of episodes is definitely what we wait for. Lol! So glad you enjoyed this frustrating episode. Also, one last thought, I think for Rapunzel, she forgets how hard Cass is trying to prove herself and that this is a job to Cass. I think sometimes she just thinks of it as her friend is there supporting her on this journey. But she really should try to remember what other people (especially Cass) are going through at the same time.

Rapunzel and Cass really care for one another but Cass has trouble expressing her true feelings and Rapunzel tries to do what she believes is best for everyone without realizing how Cass feels. Eden Espinosa is such a great singer! Can't believe it took one and a half seasons for her to get her own solo. I actually like her voice and expression even more than Rapunzel's. Also *looks around nervously* who else wants to help me build a fallout shelter for the season 2 finale?

It's one of my favorites from the series. There are so many good animatics to Tangled the Series songs. There are also a lot of covers. Alice Flare did a cover where she sang the Healing and Hurt Incantation together and it's so good.

2025-09-03 06:21:15 +0000 UTCAs someone with a big ol Cass bias too, this episode gets frustrating (in a good way) with how grey everyone's actions are. 😭 It would be easier to take a side if Rapunzel hadn't been controlled all her life, takes on the stress of the dark rocks, sets out on a journey where she experiences true independence for the first time, and learns even darker magic is tied to her and her destiny. I think Rapunzel taking initiative with the Moonstone incantation wasn't a means of sidelining Cassandra purposefully, but her way of feeling a need to step up (symbolic to her queenship) and protect those she cares about. Cassandra doesn't outwardly use her words and Rapunzel isn't too fine-tuned to people's feelings unless told upfront. 😭 It sucks, because neither of them are objectively correct in their taking action, just driven by an aggressive bout of mixed emotions.

The zoom in to Rapunzel's black soulless eye during the hurt incantation then hard cut to the cheery credits song always gets me 🤣 The bag scene! It's so sweet! And she's still carrying it after the flashback 😭 Every time Hector says "For King Edmund" I always hear ""Fucking Edmund" in a Scottish accent 🤣 Dammit I really wish Rapunzel listened to Cassandra during that battle 😖 Bryce Papenbrook (VA for English Eren Yeager from Attack on titan) is another nice Bryce. I met him years ago at a convention and he signed some of my fan art for a charity auction. Super dude 😊 This episode is absolutely one of my favourites of the series! I love it dearly ❤️

I think Rapunzel is right that she's growing more confident and she's gonna be queen and it's just natural she might disagree with her advisors sometimes (meaning specifically Cassandra rn) but I also think Raps should have realised just how deeply it all affected Cass and have more heartfelt and deep conversation with her than this quick talk they had.

And I couldn't agree more, Rapunzel is very much blind to how much she's hurting Cassandra, intentionally or not. Cassandra's entire purpose is to protect Rapunzel, and the fact that she's being sidelined for someone who they only met a short time ago versus Cassandra who has been there for Rapunzel from the start...it's hard NOT to be infuriated and upset on Cassandra's behalf. "Waiting in the Wings" never fails to make me cry btw 😭 Can't wait for the next one!! Also I'm happy you're feeling better 💜
