We're back with more Doctor Who! This reaction I will be reacting to the episodes "Aliens of London", "World War 3" and "Dalek".

Doctor Who S1 Episodes 4-6! (Patreon Exclusive)

The "You're so gay" line was included by Russel T Davies, a gay man, to basically help viewers question the Doctor's sexuality xD

I haven't watched these episodes in probably 10-15 years, so rewatching it with you is so interesting and fun. I love your view of it as a person new to the Fandom. The Dalek episode always hits particularly hard. It's the first time we see the doctor wanting to kill something so strongly. And the line from the dalek of "you would make a good dalek" is such a big moment. Really enjoyed this reaction!

I think i'm part of a minority in the fandom that acctually enjoys the slitheen. They're more prevalent in the sister show the sarah jane adventures.

The Baker's Ruview

The Daleks, although a consistent and formidable enemy in Classic Who, were also A LOT sillier back then. My favorite one is the one that lost a hostage and had such a bad panic attack over being bad at his job that it literally blew up

It's interesting watching someone feel so much sympathy for the Dalek (that's not to say I have none at all, torture is a no). It's true that the Doctor has a good deal of hate, fear, and general PTSD after all he's been though with the Daleks and was blind to signs that would have made him hesitate with other aliens, such as Rose still being alive. He didn't even question why Rose wasn't afraid of it or moving out of the way, he was just focused on killing the Dalek. I honestly don't blame him for it, but he definitely needed Rose to get him out of "War Doctor Mode". It's hard to judge the Doctor, though. Daleks aren't like some of the other aliens we've seen who make violent choices from greed or an attempt to save their kind. As they said in this ep, Daleks really do just wanna kill every other species so they'll be the only ones left, so there's not much you could offer that would appeal to them enough to bring peace. It may seem harsh to want their entire kind to be extinct, but what else can you do with an entire race that legit only feels hate, can't be changed or reasoned with, and whose entire mission is to wipe out everyone who isn't a Dalek? I mean, if more Daleks existed that you could capture without a ton of people getting exterminated in the process, you could try to force a mutation to make them not be Like That...but it'd 100% be against their will AND *gestures to the end of the ep*. It's a tough problem, which is why one generally can't fully condemn OR condone what the Doctor does here and back during the Time War. (end rant, lol)

In the third episode (the one with the "ghosts"), half of the cast was Welsh. I was very impressed watching your reaction that you were following most of it! It didn't show if you were struggling at all.

11 is (In my opinion) the funnest Doctor there is. And there are a lot of things worth... Pondering about.😉

It's funny cause the Slitheen arc is one of my least favorite stories from the Ninth Doctor and Dalek is one of my favorites. Glad you're getting invested. Can't wait for you to see what is to come. I hope in a year or three when you get to the end of the Tenth you'll give number 11 a chance. I felt he had a really good run and you'll adore his first companion. Well you might actually not, but I'm guessing you probably would.

Dalek is one of my favourite Doctor Who episodes. They brought back the most well-known DW monster in the best way for the modern audience. The episode is dark, but in a good way. You see the PTSD in The Doctor when he saw the Dalek. A creature that was literally created only to destroy and exterminate all other life forms it deemed inferior. But in the Time War, The Doctor became even worse than both the Daleks and the Time Lords, his own people. That’s what made the “Good Dalek” comment sinks deep. Because he just couldn’t deny that it was right. And he’s still coming into terms with that fact.

Something to remember about the context of this episode is that it was made in 2004, and it's about the Iraq war, it's about politicians using weapons of mass destruction that don't exist to justify their scheme to get rich

To be clear, New York is just where the United Nations building is, so that's why it cuts there

I wish I could explain just how big the “elevate” moment was for the fandom. 40 years of Daleks being absolutely terrifying yet being defeated by a 4-inch step. It felt like a law of nature was being rewritten.

Deynix

Just to let you know, the person running this show ar the time was an out gay man, Russell T Davies, he wrote most of these episodes

Darleks were ones a normal people on a planet split between two raves they comitted war after war against each ofher till the8r enemy used nukes radiati9m destroyed the, and a scientist seeked to save them but the timelords predicted this scientist would be like space hitler so they sent a time traveler to kill him he failed Now filled with hate the scientist turned these cancerous mutated crratures into mondters to save them but what they became is horibke emorionaly so he took their emotions but they hate everything else their xenophobic as hell

Damn, I'm so nostalgic for this show I can actually pronounce the Slitheen home planet by memory: Raxacoricofallapatorius. Fun fact, the Slitheen are my mother's favourite villains in this show. Also, you commented how the line "Victory...should be naked!" would sound weird out of context...well, that line has appeared in a lot of "Doctor Who Out of Context" videos on Youtube. Also, the Daleks. They are by far the most iconic monsters from Doctor Who, having been around since the 1960s, making cameos in all sort of things from the movie 'Looney Tunes: Back in Action' to 'The LEGO Batman Movie'. I think I even saw Mr Bean use a toy of one in one episode.

So a little (non spoilery) history lesson on the Daleks (and early Doctor Who): DW was originaly designed (back in 1963) as an educational program with time travel elements to make it more ,,believeable". Hence THE very first episode (An Unearthly Child) ,,villains" were just plain old caveman. Long story short said episode did not performe as well as the produceres wanted it, so in a desperate move Terry Nation created the Daleks (they were in the second episode), and it is thanks to that move that we have this show at all. Also the Daleks are the Doctor's arc enemies (one of them at least, but ,,Spoilers"), and they have met and fought the Doctor in multiple accations, even before the Time War.

Welcome to Doctor Who where the Doctor is not as good of a TARDIS pilot as he thinks he is. It's up to you if you wanna watch the coming up ons, the coming ups are only trailers for the immediate next episode and technically it is spoilery as you've seen from the other 'coming up ons' so it's up to you. I think if you really wanna go in blind though, don't watch the coming up ons. Loved your reactions! Dalek is one of my favorites for Nine's era

NatMcK7

Oh, I think it is a great idea to not watch the ,,next time" preview thing, because it can be spoilery at times.
