Cake Chateau.
Jin was at war with Big Mom.
He was utterly ruthless.
He launched himself into the air—a single, devastating kick.
He descended from the sky, his heel driving downward with brutal force.
“Narukami Blade!”
Big Mom swung her massive blade.
Lightning and fire coiled around its length.
The light was blinding, the power terrifying.
She unleashed the attack.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A deafening roar echoed out as a shockwave of shattered rock and dust billowed in every direction.
At the point of impact, space itself seemed to warp.
Even from a great distance, the ground continued to fracture. The entire chateau began to collapse, like a piece of cracked porcelain.
The sea itself boiled, the water churning violently.
The explosions were unending.
Law and Reiju burst from the collapsing chateau. A wall of Cake Island guards blocked their path ahead—Snack was closing in from behind.
“ROOM!”
“Slow-Down Aura!”
After their war with the Whitebeard Pirates, a battle with the Big Mom crew felt almost trivial. There was no tension.
A higher vantage point, a broader perspective—it brought a sense of calm.
The platform you stand on is everything.
They had fled only because the chateau was clearly not going to withstand the battle between Jin and Big Mom. To stay would have meant being buried alive.
Katakuri spared them a single glance.
He didn't intervene.
His priority was getting his family to safety.
A wall of the chateau exploded outward. Big Mom’s colossal form was thrown from the breach, hurtling toward the ground below.
“Mama—!”
Her children cried out in horror.
But the thundercloud, Zeus, swelled to a massive size, catching Big Mom and softening her landing. Even so, the impact shattered the bedrock beneath her.
“HAAAAH!”
Jin shot from the hole in the chateau, a force of pure savagery. He kicked a thousand-ton stone pillar into the air, sending it flying toward Big Mom.
Big Mom released her sword.
She slapped her palms forward, stopping the pillar in its tracks.
Then, she slammed her forehead into it.
CRASH!
The pillar disintegrated. Shards of stone shot out like bullets, pockmarking the ground.
The body of a "Steel Balloon" was on another level.
Jin was already closing the distance.
He ignored the flying debris.
He threw a single punch.
Hardened and wreathed in black Haki, his fist became as heavy as a mountain, the pressure so intense that the very air around it seemed to twist.
Seeing this, Big Mom contorted her own body, pulling back and coiling like a spring before unleashing a punch of her own.
BOOM!
The two furious fists collided.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The clash of Haki, the surge of raw Conqueror's will—a blinding flash of light erupted, swallowing the world in its brilliance.
It was apocalyptic.
“Gah…”
Countless lesser Homies and island residents fainted, unable to withstand the wave of Conqueror’s Haki. They collapsed in the streets.
One after another, they fell.
Those who remained conscious were terrified, the immense power pressing down on them, crushing the air from their lungs.
Farther away, the children who were just arriving—Pudding, Brûlée, and the others—collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably.
“Hey… I think… I think we should get out of here,” Du Feld stammered, his face pale, his hand shaking as he dabbed a handkerchief to his brow. The horrifying scene had nearly scared him to death.
Tesoro shot him a look of pure contempt.
Just a short while ago, Du Feld had contacted him, proposing an alliance to take Jin down through their shared interests in the casino and entertainment industries.
Jin had rejected his "investment," and Du Feld was bitter.
But more than that, he coveted Jin's wealth.
And when he learned that the Entertainment Weekly magazine was a joint venture between Jin and Morgans, his jealousy had grown even stronger.
But Du Feld knew that he couldn't take Jin on alone. That's why he'd reached out to Tesoro. From a business perspective, they were direct competitors.
Tesoro had been considering the offer. But now, seeing this pathetic display... he gave up on the idea. How could he possibly cooperate with someone like this?
'Money can buy anything,' he thought. 'But strength is important, too.'
Tesoro’s gaze returned to the battlefield.
The clash of the two titans was creating a scene of pure devastation.
A furious wind began to howl. A deep, oppressive feeling settled over the island. Dark thunderclouds gathered, lightning snaking through them.
Zeus, hovering above Big Mom's head, began to gather the storm.
“Ikoku!”
A bolt of lightning tore across the sky.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
An impossibly thick bolt of lightning exploded on Jin's body, a blinding, chaotic web of electricity.
The attack was so powerful that even Doflamingo would have been stunned. A clear-headed Big Mom was every bit as strong as Kaido.
But Jin stood motionless within the storm.
Not just withstanding it, but… absorbing it?
Katakuri’s eyes narrowed.
A Devil Fruit?
Tesoro was stunned.
"The Logia-type… Rumble-Rumble Fruit," Stussy whispered.
This was intelligence already known to the highest echelons of the Marines and the World Government, confirmed during his battle with Whitebeard.
But she knew that wasn't the only fruit he possessed. He also had the Calm-Calm Fruit.
She was shocked, her chest rising and falling with disbelief.
A person can eat two Devil Fruits? How is that possible?
Of course, she had not yet shared this information with anyone.
“Tenman Daijizai Tenjin!”
Zeus, enraged, unleashed an even greater storm, a massive tree of lightning that bloomed across the sky.
“Hey! That’s all you got? Give me some more!”
Jin, wreathed in lightning, let out a satisfied burp. He was actually laughing.
“What’s happening?” Zeus cried out in disbelief.
Suddenly, Jin raised a hand. A massive hand of pure lightning shot into the sky and grabbed the thundercloud.
A powerful suction force pulled at Zeus, draining the lightning he had stored.
And there was nothing he could do to stop it.
The dark, terrifying thundercloud visibly deflated, like a water-logged sponge being squeezed dry.
Zeus, having been created from a fragment of Big Mom's own soul, was far more powerful than the other Homies. He could control thunderclouds and lightning, and he could even consume them to replenish his energy.
Theoretically, he was the natural enemy of lightning.
But Jin's Rumble-Rumble Fruit was the very embodiment of the concept of "lightning." And he was far stronger.
Naturally, he could counter Zeus.
“Mama! Help me—!” Zeus shrieked. In his eyes, the man was a demon, a terrifying monster.
“Elbaf Spear: Ikoku!”
Big Mom, stunned for a moment by what had happened, saw that Zeus was in danger and immediately swung her massive blade.
A colossal shockwave of sword energy surged forward.
“Stolen Fire!”
The fire Homie, Prometheus, detached from the blade and shot forward, becoming a massive pillar of fire. Its power was comparable to Ace's Flare-Flare Fruit.
In a sense, Big Mom's Soul-Soul Fruit could create the powers of many other Logia fruits.
But creating such powerful Homies required her to split off a piece of her own soul, which could cause her mind to become unmoored, leading to fits of madness.
And it all came at a cost. Creating and sustaining the Homies consumed her own life force.
That was why she needed the citizens of Totto Land to offer up their lifespan—to keep the entire kingdom running.
It wasn't just the Soul-Soul Fruit. The more powerful the fruit, the greater the strain on the user's body. Eventually, it would begin to consume their life force.
The shockwave and the pillar of fire were about to swallow him whole.
Jin’s eyes were sharp, electricity arcing across his body. He was filled with an absolute confidence.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
<><><><><><><><>
Jin met the attack with a punch of his own, a brutal, head-on collision. A torrent of lightning and electricity shot from his fist.
In that instant—
“ROOAAR!”
A divine dragon formed of pure lightning roared into existence, carried forward by the force of his punch and his Haki.
Its roar was deafening.
It was far more terrifying than Enel's "Thunderbird" or "Thunder Wolf."
Wherever it passed, the air exploded, the ground shattered, and buildings were crushed, collapsing into dust.
It opened its jaws and tore into the "Ikoku" shockwave, swallowing it whole.
Then, it "ate" Prometheus.
Flames erupted from its body.
Lightning and fire clashed, the energy exploding like firecrackers.
But the punch continued.
It hurtled toward Big Mom. The sight was terrifying.
Big Mom's pupils contracted. She brought Napoleon up to block.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The flaming lightning dragon crashed against the Armament Haki-wreathed blade.
A tidal wave of lightning and fire washed over the battlefield.
After throwing the punch, Jin took a breath, then took another step. As Big Mom was being pushed back by the lightning dragon, he threw another punch.
His fists powerful and impossibly fast, each one trailing lightning as they rained down on her.
He attacked relentlessly, each blow landing with a sickening thud, the immense force driving Big Mom back, step by step.
It wasn't that she was powerless to fight back. It was that Jin had seized the opening, and his lightning-infused attacks were too fast, too ferocious, a torrential downpour that had her completely on the defensive.
DOOOOM!
The final punch.
His fist shone with a blinding light, hardened with Haki and wreathed in lightning, like a miniature sun.
A searing pain shot through Big Mom. She was sent flying, crashing into the shattered earth, half her body embedded in the ground.
She coughed up a mouthful of blood and let out a pained cry.
She was injured.
The lightning, the Haki, the force of the punch—it had all spiraled together, drilling through her steel-like defenses and striking her fragile internal organs.
The Spiral Force.
Adding a spiral to any force increases its piercing power. A nail with a spiral can drill through steel. A bullet with rifling is faster, more destructive...
During his time in the Flower Capital, Jin had witnessed many different fighting styles, many different applications of "force." He had been practicing, honing his skills.
In his mind, it all came down to a simple contest of "spear" vs. "shield."
The "Ryuo" of Wano was just one school of Armament Haki application.
As long as you could break the shield, it didn't matter if it was Ryuo or something else.
Use what works.
But it was also a testament to his own enhanced learning ability, a result of his evolution. He could quickly grasp the essence of any technique. An ordinary person would be lucky to master one such technique in their entire lifetime.
She was down?
One of the Four Emperors, Big Mom... was down?
Doflamingo and Tesoro were stunned.
—————————————
"Mama—!"
Katakuri, Oven, and the others all cried out in shock.
“Zan Giri Mochi!”
Katakuri’s arm transformed into mochi, rapidly expanding into a massive, spiked club, which he then hardened with Armament Haki. He leaped into the air and spun, bringing the club crashing down on Jin like a meteor.
“Hot Wind Sword!” Oven roared, his naginata wreathed in flames.
“Cream Monster!”
“Wave Pretzel!”
Seeing their mother fall, the children of the Big Mom family attacked without hesitation.
“Mama… are you alright?” Others—Perospero, Smoothie, Brûlée—rushed to her side.
Katakuri’s attack slammed into the ground, but all it hit was a shimmering afterimage of lightning. Jin was already behind him.
He swept a leg out.
Katakuri’s Observation Haki saw it coming. He spun, using his left leg as a pivot, and whipped his right leg around to meet the attack.
Since his last defeat, he had been training relentlessly. He was stronger now.
BOOM!
Their Haki-hardened legs collided in mid-air. An even more terrifying force sent Katakuri flying.
A wave of intense heat washed over him.
A dozen more attacks were incoming.
Jin charged into the barrage, then vanished, reappearing in front of Oven.
Oven was horrified.
A lightning-wreathed fist slammed into his stomach. He doubled over like a shrimp, coughing up blood as he was sent flying.
“ROAR!”
The Cream Monster lunged.
Jin snatched Oven’s still-glowing naginata from the air and swung it, a wave of intense heat melting the cream.
Cracker charged, unleashing a powerful, spinning shockwave.
Jin crossed his arms, hardening them with Armament Haki, and blocked the attack with a sound like clashing steel.
Cracker’s pupils contracted. He tried to press the attack, but Jin pushed back, forcing his sword away.
Jin’s own attack followed, a hundred afterimages of his fists enveloping Cracker.
“Hard Biscuit!”
Cracker immediately created a massive biscuit shield, coating it in Armament Haki.
The Paramecia Biscuit-Biscuit Fruit!
After a few dozen punches, the biscuit shield shattered.
A single fist broke through.
BOOM!
Cracker was sent flying, the excruciating pain robbing him of his ability to think.
More attacks came.
Daifuku’s genie brought its massive blade down, Amande unleashed a sword strike…
Gunshots, flames, flying needles…
Jin turned to lightning and evaded them all.
“Twisted Spear Mochi!”
Katakuri was back.
In mid-air, his legs transformed into mochi, twisting together into a long, sharp spear that descended on Jin with deadly precision, hardened and wreathed in Armament Haki.
Jin looked up, his hair whipping around his face.
He could feel a tremor deep within his body, a trembling in his very cells. It wasn't fear. It was excitement. It was the will to fight.
The intense, high-stakes battle had his blood boiling.
He stomped the ground, and it shattered. With a sonic boom, he shot into the air, the Armament Haki on his fist like the tip of a spear.
Like a nail.
BOOM!
They collided.
A deafening roar.
A brilliant flash of light.
Arcs of energy, like lightning but not lightning, shot out from the point of impact.
It was a silent, wordless battle between two men with the disposition of a king.
A clash of wills.
Neither would back down.
“WUUUUHAAAAA…!”
Jin roared, his power surging, and he sent Katakuri flying, a meteor streaking across the sky.
Daifuku, Mont-d'Or, and the other family officers all charged, their weapons raised, swarming him.
But Jin's fighting spirit was at its peak. He was fearless. He pushed through their attacks and sent them all flying.
The guests of the Tea Party, who had long since fled to a safe distance, watched in stunned silence.
“One man, fighting the entire Big Mom family?!”
“Does he think he’s Kaido?”
“This is insane!”
Others were just enjoying the show.
“This Tea Party was totally worth it!”
At that moment—
A glint in Tesoro's eye. This was his chance to be the hero.
“This is Big Mom’s territory,” he said, stepping forward and drawing all eyes to him. “To let an outsider cause such a ruckus… it’s just too much. I can’t just stand by and watch.”
“It’s the Gold Emperor!”
“Is he going to fight?”
The guests were surprised. Doflamingo, Stussy, and Du Feld were all taken aback.
He leaped into the air, his fist turning to gold, an armored gauntlet wreathed in Haki. “I’m here to help!”
“Golden Burst!”
A flashy entrance, a powerful punch.
But the blow wasn't aimed at Jin.
It shot past him—hurtling straight for Reiju.
