How to run Hybrids: Virtual Encounters

If you got issues on how to run Hybrids: Virtual Encounters, this tutorial may help you.

You need to become our Patron first, because you need access to our Patron-only-posts. You have to choose at least the Patron tier or higher. Patrons have access to milestone builds ,if you are a Lab  Rat or Gene Splicer you have additionally access to the experimental builds (test versions) as well.

Make sure to always look for the latest Milestone Build or Experimental build.

This will take you to the MEGA download page. Hit Download.

Hybrids: Virtual Encounters comes in a compressed archive (7Z). To extract the game files, you will need a program like PeaZip, 7zip, WinRAR or any other archive extraction software of your choice. Theres a high chance it is already installed on your computer. If you have the software already installed, you can skip the following step.

Download PeaZip from: https://peazip.github.io/index.html 

Youre most certainly looking for the 64bit version.

Run the .exe you have downloaded and press Install to install PeaZip.

You now have PeaZip installed and you are ready to extract Hybrids: Virtual Encounters!

When the HybrdsVR .zip finishes downloading, put it into an empty folder, then double click it. You should see the PeaZip File Manager window open up. What you see are the compressed Hybrids: Virtual Encounters game files. Before you can run it, you need to extract them first. If Windows is not opening the archive, and the PeaZip Install went through without showing an error, please restart your computer first.

Press Extract.

And in the next window simply press OK.

Then you simply double-click the .exe 

Important
You will be asked to authenticate yourself in-game as patron of Hybrids: Virtual Encounters.

This action will open up your default browser to present a web page what will prompt you to authenticate your Hybrids: Virtual Encounters account. Follow the directions in the web page to authenticate your Hybrids: Virtual Encounters account and enjoy the game!

!!! Troubleshooting !!! 

• If the web page does not open or anything else weird happens make sure your anti-virus software is not interfering. Add an exception for the Hybrids: Virtual Encounters client to continue.
  
  Also if another program is taking up port 8080 on your system you may encounter an error. Feel free to view the article below on how to remedy this situation ONLY if you encounter a bug with the web page below.

• If you are encoutering an issue with SteamVR (and/or Valve Index) make sure you set the option "Currant OpenXR Runtime" in the SteamVR settings.
