The two shared a rivalry, and would often fight, verbally and physically, neither surrendering until they had to be separated by others.
Despite this, they still cared for each other and over the years formed a strong bond. Juel would share food with Thamina, and Thamina would bring him along on short adventures outside the city walls.
First Thamina, then later Juel were taken from the Underdark. Juel lost his eyesight some time after she left.
In the present, Thamina works in a cosy environment, her days of destitution and starvation finally ended, while Juel studies in a wizard academy of the high elves and uses magic to "see"/perceive the world around him.
