i think it happens only on intel cpus with more than 10 cores, amd cpu hasn't this problem on dead space 2, try limiting the cores to 6 cores on msconfig while playing the game & see if that fixes

Make sure you have write permissions to C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dead Space 2\Now\Dead Space II Redux D.E 5.0.ini." Also does this mod has the same issues with some CPUs or is it already fixed?
