Love from the Stars - Ch1

Rating: T

Relationships: Catra/Adora

Tags: Post-Canon Universe, Magical Pregnancy, Hurt/Comfort, Pov Catra, Pov Adora, Adora is in Love with Catra (She-Ra), Catra is in Love with Adora, Catra's had therapy, Adora's had therapy, everyone's had therapy, unexpected pregnancy, space travel, pregnancy, fluff, like SO fluffy, its what they deserve, they are inlove, thats it.

Adora is used to turning into She-ra because of how much she loves her wife. But she never expected all that love she felt could get Catra pregnant. The bigger Catra gets, the more restless she becomes. She can feel a pull from the stars, something is calling her home.

--

They did it. Prime was dead.

It felt almost too good to be true, but the reality of it all started to set in. Adora wanted to explore the universe but they had a lot to do at home first. Adora made herself a list to keep it all straight in her head and Catra added to it, whenever she felt compelled.

Of course some things took priority. Adora wasn’t an idiot, she knew what Catra sacrificed for her and what Adora almost lost. She wasn’t going to be ungrateful and not make Catra her priority. They had a whole life ahead of them, and wherever that would take them, she wanted Catra by her side.

That first night, snuggled into Adora’s bed, with Catra laying beside her in the dark, Adora told Catra exactly how she felt, blushing and whispering about whatever. Catra returned Adora’s feelings, which she already knew, but they spent that night sharing their dreams for the future. Dreams of a boring, peaceful life, where they could just be together. That's all they needed.

Adora expected things with Prime to not really be over and for Prime to be out there somewhere, waiting to strike. But those feelings slowly dissipated over time. It was really over.

Catra had nightmares often in the beginning, but therapy helped them both to reconnect with themselves and connect with each other. Over time, those nightmares slipped away too.

The second year after Prime, people started to settle into new routines. The castles were on their way to repairing all the damage that had been done to them and that healing slowly spread out into the villages and towns of the kingdoms.

Scorpia and Perfuma were the first to get married and introduce Adora to a concept she had never heard before. Apparently it meant a great union between two people who loved each other more than anything. On their wedding day, Adora had watched Catra, standing up with Scorpia as her maid of honour and knew what she wanted for her life. She was going to make Catra her wife.

Three years after Prime, was when Bow and Glimmer decided it was time to have their own wedding. They had been waiting until all the repairs had been finished and the Etheria was whole again, but they just couldn’t wait any longer. They married and a few short weeks later Scopria and Perfuma announced that they were having a baby.

When Scorpia and Perfuma’s baby Flor was born, Catra was nervous and very unsure. She was worried about hurting them with her claws so she didn’t want to hold them at all in the beginning. But even if she didn’t hold them she gave baby Flor her utmost attention whenever she entered a room, stopping half way through sentences to watch Flor babble or frown. It was Adora’s favourite thing to watch Catra’s brain just stop at the sight of her. It was adorable.

Four years after Prime Glimmer and Bow announced their own pregnancy. Adora was still curious how it happened but decided it would be rude to ask. She would find out when she needed to know. When Angel was born Catra was completely taken with them. Maybe it was because of her experience with Flor, or her closeness with Glimmer and Bow that made her so maternal. Every time they needed someone to take care of Angel Catra was right there fighting Micah for the honour. Angel was a cool little dude, so Adora couldn’t blame Catra.

Five years after Prime and Adora decided it was a good idea to stop counting them. Prime didn’t deserve to be remembered like that. The universe was healing from his scars and the clones were free and functioning members of society. The Horde had disbanded and the Kingdoms had recovered. He deserved to be forgotten as the monster he was.

On the evening of the Princess Prom which was held in the new Scorpioni Castle, Adora took Catra by the hand and led her out onto the balcony.

In her pocket was her wing pin which was the first thing that ever felt like it was truly hers, and she offered it to Catra with a promise to love her forever. Catra had cried, what a sap, and Adora cried too, as soon as Catra said yes. They danced on the balcony under the stars they had saved together until the cold air sent them inside to tell their friends the good news.

Forever together was all they really wanted, and it was what they earned for the pain that they endured.

[...]

“Good morning, my wife,” Adora whispered into Catra’s skin, her breath was hot as it rustled the fur on her collarbone. Catra’s ears twitched at the sound of Adora’s husky morning voice which sent pleasant warmth through her body. Adora trailed her lips gently over her skin as she left kisses in her wake. She seemed content to follow the trail of the hickies she had left on Catra’s neck the night before.

“MY wife,” Catra argued petulantly as she rolled into Adora’s embrace and proceeded to go boneless once again.

Adora chuckled and ran her hands gently over Catra’s naked form and Catra started to purr as she enjoyed the petting. Adora was radiating warmth even as the chill of the morning slowly left the room to make way for the warmth of a sunny spring day. Birds had started to chirp in the early hours as the daymoon rose. Melog quickly disappeared to hunt right after sunrise. Catra could feel the thrumming excitement Melog felt as they ran through the whispering woods and she could practically smell the sweet, mossy scents that surrounded them as the day began.

Everything felt perfect.

Their wedding the previous day had been everything they had wanted it to be. The weather was perfect and the day was filled with love. It felt like all of Etheria had joined them on their special day just to celebrate with them.

Adora had even managed to not eat too much cake so she wouldn’t have a stomach ache for the night they had planned. Catra’s muscles were still sore from their private celebration. It was a beautiful night where they got lost in each other's embrace until the early hours of the morning.

Catra loved Adora so much and Adora loved her too but there was nothing like the emotional heights they had reached on their wedding night. In the soft afterglow of their unity Catra had felt so full of unfiltered emotions that she thought she might just burst from holding all that love inside her body.

It appeared that Adora wasn’t  finished with her yet as her hands squeezed with a little more purpose on the softer parts of Catra’s body. Catra’s purr became louder as she relaxed into the warm glow of her wife as it brightened against her eyelids.

Catra cracked an eye open to observe her wife literally glowing. Adora glowed often, especially when she was full of love to the point that she almost transformed into She-ra by accident. Catra secretly loved it. It was an ever present reminder of just how colossal Adora’s feelings for her were. Even when she was quietly appreciating her like she was now she couldn’t seem to hide it. Adora looked up at Catra’s face and smiled softly.

“Sorry,” Adora said, the light dimming out of her skin as she regained control and Catra scoffed.

“Sorry for what? Loving me so much that you’re a big gay beacon?” Catra asked playfully and Adora laughed.

“I would never apologise for that. I meant glowing while you are trying to sleep,” Adora said softly and Catra closed her eyes as she smiled.

“That is a reasonable thing to apologise for. I’m not done napping yet,” Catra said and Adora ran her hand down Catra’s spine as she hummed.

“I worked up an appetite, so let me get us some breakfast and you finish napping,” Adora offered as she unwrapped herself from Catra. Catra snuggled more into the bed and smiled.

“Better be quick, I don’t plan on letting you leave this room again today,” Catra said and Adora laughed.

“I will be quick,” Adora said as she dressed. Catra cracked her eyes open to leer at her wife as she covered her marked body with clothing. Catra had kept Adora’s turtleneck in mind to keep her hickies under the collar but it seemed one had gotten a little high under Adora’s ear. Catra smirked as Adora looked at her.

Adora took a moment to take in Catra’s naked form as her tail twitched with interest before Adora bit her lip.

“I will be so, so quick,” Adora promised as she came over to the bed to press a kiss into Catra’s hair.

Catra purred gently as she wiggled her ears and Adora pet one carefully before she left the room.

Catra awoke again to the soft sounds of the bedroom door opening. She stretched out and rolled onto her back, arching her back as her muscles woke from their groggy state.

Adora was silent but Catra could feel her eyes on her. She cracked her eyes open to look at her wife and watched the way her eyes raked over her body. Adora had brought a tray of food that she placed on her desk and she started undressing again as she approached the bed.

Catra smirked as she watched Adora’s body come into view and she climbed back into bed. Food completely forgotten. Catra purred happily as her wife scooped her up in her arms and kissed her tenderly. She would never stop appreciating that she got to have Adora like this for the rest of her life.

[...]

Adora groaned as she sat down on their bed in Mystacor. Catra had begged to visit the sky city on their honeymoon because she loved beaches where she could nap in the sun, and her favourites were ones without water. Adora had given in to the request pretty easily since the last time the best friend squad had visited the sky city Adora had actually managed to relax. Catra had parked them both on the cloud beach and proceeded to lay on top of Adora, purring until Adora fell asleep in the sun.

Catra had attempted a similar manoeuvre this time, laying with her arm across Adora while she purred into her side. Adora had fallen asleep pretty easily, but in their haste to get to Catra’s nap Adora had forgotten to put on her sunscreen.

Which was why, a three hour nap later Adora was burnt to a crisp. The only part of her that was not burnt was what her swimsuit was covering and the section of her abs that Catra’s arm had been covering.

Adora whimpered as she attempted to bend her arms to take off her swimsuit, not finding this nearly as hilarious as Catra thought it was.

“You are going to have the weirdest tan lines,” Catra giggled as she looked at Adora as she struggled and refused to ask for help. Catra went to the chest of draws in their room to look inside. Castaspella said she had filled this draw with everything they might need and she wasn’t kidding. Catra pushed some things around and found a small packet that smelt like plastic and turned it over curiously. Whatever it was, it was ribbed for her pleasure. Weird.

“Is there anything for sunburns?” Adora asked as she carefully laid completely nude on her back on the bed like a starfish.

“Yes, here we go,” Catra said, pulling out some cooling cream. She walked over to Adora and climbed on the bed beside her as she looked at the damage.

“Want me to do it for you?” Catra asked, not loving the idea of putting this goop in her fur but she didn’t want to watch Adora in pain either.

“I can’t move,” Adora whined softly as she pouted and Catra rolled her eyes. Catra squirted the liquid into her hand and was a little surprised how watery it was. She started with Adora’s stomach and gently rubbed the cream into her red skin. Adora groaned in pleasure and Catra gasped scandalously.

“Ma’am!?” Catra asked and Adora sighed.

“This feels like it should be dirty but it's not,” Adora said, her face not getting any redder despite the embarrassed expression she now wore.

“You know…you can just heal yourself right?” Catra asked casually and Adora looked surprised. Like she forgot she was a literal goddess.

“I…didn’t think of that…” Adora said sheepishly.

“Uh huh,” Catra said, she was unconvinced that Adora didn’t have an ulterior motive.

“If I heal you’ll stop rubbing cream on me,” Adora pouted and Catra grinned.

“Not necessarily, if you are healed we could have a lot more fun with it,” Catra said suggestively and Adora glowed so suddenly and healed so fast Catra was sure she heard a popping sound. Catra laughed before she squirted some of the cream onto Adora’s abs and started to rub up towards her chest. Adora gasped.

“It's ok princess, you can make as many sounds as you like,” Catra purred, moving up her ribcage with the cooling cream and Adora groaned deeply as she blushed.

The Seaworthy bar was a rowdy place but Adora loved it. So Catra tolerated it. They came at least once a year and Adora would have an arm wrestling contest with the patrons. For obvious reasons she was the undefeated champion. But Adora loved it and Catra loved Adora, so it was a stop on their honeymoon.

Catra didn't mind, she loved to watch Adora show off her strength and get all cocky afterwards. Catra was more than happy to sit at the bar and listen to the latest drama from Mermista while enjoying the show.

Catra and the Sea Queen were leaning on the bar with a cocktail in hand as they watched Seahawk try to best Adora for the fourth time that night. Adora was being nice and making it seem like he was putting up a good fight as she waited for him to tire himself out. Catra watched Adora’s bicep flex under her shirt with appreciation.

"I think I'm going to marry that idiot" Mermista said casually and Catra snorted.

"You can't, she's my wife" Catra said, sipping her drink before she looked at Mermista, who was giving Catra a deadpan stare. "Oh, you mean Seahawk?"

"Duh," Mermista drawled and Catra rolled her eyes.

"Congratulations? Has he asked yet?" Catra asked as she sipped her cocktail. It was tangy and sweet and it made her fur want to fluff up at the fizzy feeling.

"Of course not. I'm going to ask him. Soon," Mermista said. It made more sense, despite Seahawks obvious love and devotion for Mermista he also wouldn’t ask such an important question without checking with her first. Mermista was more a ‘do it yourself’ kinda girl anyways.

"I'm sure he will be absolutely thrilled" Catra said, smiling over the rim of her drink.

"He better be, I don't do this for just anyone," Mermista said and tried to hide the way her cheeks coloured by sipping her own drink.

"You're gonna have cute kids," Catra said, thinking of Flor and Angel, who were in fact the cutest.

"I dunno, we've been talking about adopting" Mermista said casually and Catra grinned in surprise.

"Really? That's great" Catra said honestly, there were so many children out in the world that desperately needed loving parents and families. Despite how chill Mermista was, Catra was certain she would be a doting parent.

"Yeah, have you and Adora talked about it?" Mermista asked and Catra cleared her throat to not choke on her drink.

"Oh no, we only just got married, we aren't there yet," Catra said, feeling something akin to panic rise in her. It wasn’t that she didn’t want kids. She wanted it all with Adora. But she didn’t feel prepared for children. She had spent years working on herself and doing therapy so she could be a good friend, girlfriend and wife to the people she cared about. She was even a loving aunt, but she wasn’t ready to think about kids just yet. She didn’t feel like she was better enough yet.

"You guys are solid though, it's never too early to talk about it" Mermista said and Catra nodded. She knew her and Adora were forever, she hadn’t had a moment of doubt about that. But kids were a big deal, and it would take talking about it, and being on the same page before they made that leap. But there was no harm talking about it, right?

"Maybe you're right," Catra said, sipping her drink as the panic in her chest melted away again. The bar erupted in cheers drowning out all other sound as the mighty She-ra made her appearance. She flexed, showing off and making a few people swoon.

A younger Catra might have been jealous but when Adora looked across the bar Catra knew she was the only one Adora could see. Her bright blue gaze was like a lighthouse guiding her home. She could hardly wait to get her back to their room and all to herself again.

They had spent a few days at the castle with Frosta and Adora still struggled to not think of Frosta as a 12 year old. She was almost 18 now and she was an excellent ruler.

After their time with Frosta they planned to spend a few days in a secluded cabin together on the mountain peak. The view was breathtaking and the day was long.  They explored the snow covered mountains and Catra grumbled half the time as they got lost once or twice in the confusingly similar landscape.

When they finally arrived at the cabin Catra had immediately settled on the couch under some blankets and Adora set to work getting some wood and starting a fire to warm the cabin. It was a slow process but it was warm enough for Adora to take her jacket off.

Catra was refusing to leave the blankets so Adora decided to join her to help warm her up. Catra snuggled up to Adora as soon as she sat on the couch.

Catra wrapped her blanket around Adora as she nuzzled her face into Adora’s neck.

"How are you so warm?" Catra asked, her cold hands finding their way under Adora's clothes. Adora thought Catra was being dramatic but her hands really did feel cold.

"Come here, I'll warm you up," Adora said, pulling her wife into her lap and wrapping the blanket tighter around them both. Catra started to purr immediately.

"Oh yeah? I like the sound of that," Catra purred and nuzzled under Adora's chin. Adora hands ran over Catra to help warm her, careful not to rub her fur the wrong way.

As Catra warmed up she slowly relaxed until she was bonelessly and purring as she leaned into Adora.

"Feeling better?" Adora asked gently.

"Much, but I'm not leaving this blanket until this house feels like a heatwave," Catra said and Adora chuckled.

"That's fine with me," Adora said softly as she ran her warm hands under Catra's jacket.

"I have some places you can warm up for me," Catra said playfully and Adora grinned.

"With pleasure" Adora said, pulling the blanket over their heads as Catra giggled.

“AUNTIE CATRA” Flor screamed with delight as she ran down the steps of the new Scorpioni castle and Catra rushed to the bottom of the stairs to catch her.

“Flor!” Catra said, grabbing the four year old as she jumped from the fourth step into Catra’s arms. Catra stumbled back a little. Even as a four year old, Flor was big. She was her mothers daughter after all.

Adora stabilised Catra and grinned at Flor.

“Hey Flor, do I get a cuddle too?” Adora asked and Flor shook her head.

“No, Auntie Adora is stinky,” Flor said and Catra tried not to laugh as Adora pouted. Flor had clear favouritism for Catra from the day she was born, which was to be expected with Scorpia as her mother.

“Well I guess you’ll be stinky too, then princess,” Adora said scooping up Flor who cackled as Adora pretended to rub her stink into her.

Catra laughed as she heard the heavily pregnant Scorpia arrive with a huff.

“Whew, she really got away from me there. Howdy,” Scorpia said and Catra grinned. Scorpia looked so happy and absolutely ready to pop. Catra wanted to make sure they saw her before she was exhausted by another newborn.

“Hey Scorp,” Catra said, giving her a hug as she got to the bottom of the stairs.

“Hey Wildcat,”

“Mama, Auntie Adora made me stinky!” Flor said and Scorpia smiled.

“Really? Well I guess you need a bath tonight then,”

“Noooo,” Flor pouted, and Adora laughed.

“We can fix this, quick, put the stink back onto me,” Adora said and Flor lit up with a smile as she attempted to scoop imaginary smell into Adora’s hair.

“She’s so good with kids,” Scorpia said softly and Catra smiled as she watched.

“Its cos she’s just a big kid,” Catra said affectionately and Scorpia smiled.

“All clean Mama!” Flor said proudly as Adora put her on the ground.

“Hmm, let me see,” Scorpia said and Flor did a pirouette to show off her pretty dress.

“Look at that, you’re all clean!”  Scorpia said in wonder and Flor giggled and started up the stairs again. “Don’t go too far!” Scorpia called and Adora stepped closer to give Scorpia the stupidest bro hug before she grinned.

“I’ll get her,” Adora said, darting up the stairs after the four year old. Perfuma came out of the castle door, just missing Adora the wrecking ball.

“Hey Fuma,” Adora said, giving her a quick hug before following the blonde four year old down the hall into the castle proper.

“Oh, thank goodness you are here,” Perfuma said with a giggle.

“Hey Fuma,” Catra said, walking up the stairs to join her and give her a hug. Perfuma hugged her back with a smile.

“Catra, how was your trip?” Perfuma asked, taking a moment to fuss over Scorpia who just smiled patiently at her wife.

“It was good, I am not a fan of the snow, but I much prefer the weather here, it feels familiar,” Catra said, looking out at the newly reforming Kingdom of the Scorpioni people. They were growing slowly and the old Horde keep had been dismantled to return the land to their rightful owners.

It was peaceful, and it filled Catra with a sense of calm deep in her bones. She was never going to stop thanking the stars that they got to have this, that Adora and Catra had survived and got to watch the world healing around them.

“Ready, Wildcat?” Scorpia asked as Perfuma hung off her arm lovingly. Catra smiled at her friends, princesses, queens. Ten years ago Catra would have laughed at the idea that one day she would be here.  It was everything she didn’t know she wanted.

“Yeah,”
