Coke (and especially crack) is nasty af, but opiates are considerably more difficult to recover from in terms of mental, physical, and physiological withdrawal…Addicts can start feeling powerful symptoms within hours, and it can last for days and cause violent sickness and psychosis. It’s why a lot of treatment methods require morphine or methadone to taper off. Real bad news, which is also why Mia attempting to go “cold turkey” was taken so cautiously and seriously by the group…Also, little piece of trivia: All five main characters’ names create an acronym for “DEMON” (David, Eric, Mia, Olivia, Natalie…😉)
