Okay apparently you can’t see my comment on YouTube so don’t mind me as I just copy paste it here Big hugs 🫂 no need to apologize for feeling distraught about losing something that spoke to you and was meaningful to you I think reflecting on how we ourselves view anime or the lens we watch it through is very important because of the sheer amount of anime that’s being made it’s easy to lose sight of what makes anime worth watching or unique or what you can take away form a specific anime which story maybe has been told similarly and quite like that. Since you like food analogies, I think we should treat anime as full course meals and think about the people that prepared and marinated it, cooked it and what after taste it leaves in our mouths especially since these times and the sheer amount of anime produced and thrown at us make it increasingly easier to just view it as cheap fast or junk food 28:56 I do love how even though the sunset hue is already orange it has blue under tones and almost seems desaturated making it feel cool and reflect the hopelessness of the situation Emila and the citizens of Priestella found themselves in and in the duration of the Speech the saturation doesn’t just increase but it gets over saturated and the “camera” gets over exposed as if the light radiating from the message of hope is too much for the imaginary recording device that’s picking up this moment of Subaru speaking in front of the Metia Also really fun how everything points at the metia being used by Liliana this entire season only for it to be a bait and switch and it actually being Subaru having to be the one to use it Another nice touch is the bird that opens up that Emilia opened the very same ones who’s shadow and cross tied boxed Emila in (literally and framing wise )from ep 4 until now later fly over the Town hall in an overhead shot while Subaru is doing his speech symbolizing that even though they’re apart they’re still under the same sky and somehow connected in this moment You made up for it don’t your worry, your thoughts and feelings still came across and the fact that you care so deeply about the recording in a testament in itself how much this episode means to you and I’m more than happy with that as a fan of you and your channel and Re:Zero and Tappeis writing Also really fun how everything points at the metia being used by Liliana this entire season only for it to be a bait and switch and it actually being Subaru having to be the one to use it I was going to go to bed but then I got the Patreon notification so I had to ramble again but I do want to rewatch the episode tomorrow keep it your thoughts and perspective in mind and ramble some more which I unfortunately can’t do now since it’s past 2am so. Seeing you gain your footing in Re:Zero this third season has been great, along with the continuation of Vinland Saga's impact, so thank you! The second-round discussion over what anime does in the greater sense, and tying in Subaru's use of a metia to your own camera, helps to understand a little of what no longer exists! But I'm hopeful you will hit a similar peak once again, and I hope to be here for that.
