2024-06-05 14:28:34 +0000 UTCI would figure the reason he can possess Subaru is either his high affinity with spirits or the strong presence of the witch's scent The detail about the robe preventing recognition is mentioned way, way earlier in the novel which is important because Priscilla still sees through it in the capital (a lot of Priscilla's stuff got cut, this part is still in the anime but is far more subtle) The director's cut adds a final scene after the credits which was a teaser for season 2, but I personally don't think it's good for a first time watch simply because it leaves you wanting to go straight into season 2 but the frozen bond OVA comes first (and so might taint your experience as it is "in the way" of the followup to the teaser) I agree with you on the unconditional love thing, and it's kind of why I'm not fully on board with the Rem/Subaru relationship like most people. Rem's love for Subaru is definitely unhealthy and has some more growing to do itself.
