Love to hear your theories on Megumi's backstory, and agree with a lot of what you said re: the way the philosophical/emotional conflicts are reflected and 'resolved' in their fights!
Since you asked about additional thoughts on that last point: I think Megumi + Yuuji were fighting about 'saving people and fairness (because you can't save everyone)' but maybe also 'saving people who you think will likely cause a lot of harm' (as a more specific part of that general conflict)
The initial argument was about the 'worth' of saving the juvenile delinquents, which makes me think the unfairness that Yuuji points out when he says 'But you saved me' is also partly because Sukuna's vessel is very likely to cause harm (Megumi was the one who decided to save Yuuji when Gojo asked). If even Sukuna's vessel should be given a chance, then going by 'fairness' he should save many other people too, disregarding their potential for harm.
And that fits with Megumi saying he saves selfishly and biasedly: he saw Yuuji as a good person and didn't want him to die despite it being riskier for him to live (and, let's be real, the juvenile delinquent had a much smaller potential for harm sheer numbers-wise).
It also ties in with the theme of power and responsibility you mentioned before, I think Yuuji has a 'grander' sense of responsibility and justice (which he himself admits he doesn't fully understand), whereas Megumi is skeptical and chooses not to consider justice a responsibility. When Yuuji dies, they have a better understanding of themselves and each other.
I hope you continue to enjoy watching this series!

Understanding Volcano-Head's logic is so much easier with these subs, whoever did them seems to know their shit.
Translating "Shikigami" as "Cursed Beast" is a bit of an unexpected choice....but definitely not a deal breaker. SO MUCH better than the initial CrunchySubs, by a wide margin.

In regard to the lack of information given about Megumi and that girls backstory, Gege (mangaka) really likes giving partial information and then jumping around and not answering things until later lmao he's just quirky like that. I think it works well a lot of the time but sometimes he waits a little too long without any info even if its not the full answer, but either way you will eventually get an answer to almost all of your questions :)
