2023-10-07 18:52:45 +0000 UTCSpeaking of symbols, chainsaws definitely carry a lot of the signifying power we've covered, but I recently learned a lesser known potential dimension: chainsaws were invented to cut into pelvic bones during childbirth ("fun" fact of the day). Relevant to Denji in a certain type of way lmao. Anyway now I'm convinced this was part of Fujimoto's impetus for chainsaw man. pochita didn't give up his heart just bc of denji's dream, pochita also wants what Denji wants: to return to their shared primeval origins between a pair of birthing legs.
