2023-09-01 17:42:43 +0000 UTCkanroji is so great. she questions her identity, her purpose, how she fits into society - like all of us. and she chooses to let her freak flag fly high, with the support of her family, of course. she comes to embrace her appearance and strength and that leads her to her new purpose. i envy her strength and confidence. for lots of modern women, it's not so much a lack of confidence that makes us hide away - it's about covering ourselves in layers of armor to protect ourselves from predators. unless you've been oogled like livestock, like an object, it's hard to explain that terrifying feeling of weakness and vulnerability. so seeing Kanroji being bright, bold, and beautiful with the strength to protect herself and her loved ones never fails to bring a smile to my face and a song of hope to my heart.
