Supernatural 13x22 EARLY Early Access!

Gabriel got a grip on the thumbnail presence in the later half of this season, my goodness.

Supernatural 13x22 EARLY Early Access!

Well, one episode left, after that we are in the penultimate series. I jumped back just because this will be a fantastic two-season-long finale. What a journey, ma'am. Every story must end, and you are getting close.

So, one weird thing. Apologies for not responding to your comments on the last week’s reaction, if in fact you commented. I see that a comment is there, but it won’t pop up, and I can’t read it, for whatever reason. Which sucks as I was very much looking forward to what you had to say on that one. Talking the one this week. Yeah, Jack being curious about his father isn’t the least understandable thing. You see that Dean defaults to some of his not great behavior, and good on Mary to call out how not great it is. The flip side is that you feel Sam’s pain with this. Can’t blame him. Sam saving Charlie was a VERY healing thing for him, and me. That hug, I had to pause. The sobbing was a bit strong there. And, oh yeah, they saved Ketch too, swell. Give him half a point for the snappy dialogue in defiance of the torture, I can see the assessment of Mary. She says that the people do need help, and she can’t just turn her back. I take her point, yet, like you say, it does come across as fairly cold, and Dean’s “We need you, Mom.” response is very real. Like you said, how they continually come second to Mary can be harmful to them. Good on Sam for taking the third option. So, you eulogize Gabriel. This is permanent? We’re sure? I’m asking honestly, as one, I don’t know past this point. Second, this show, combined with my passion for the Sith and being well versed in that lore, suspicion is had with the character deaths in this show. And we do have two more seasons. Exceptions exist like with Bobby where they were pretty clear on that one, obscenely painful though it was. I do know one or two things with this in the last season as over five years ago, the internet got loud, people at work too. I will say it does look like Gabriel has ceased to be, and if so, yes, he gets a very fitting send off. And yes, there is a very good satisfaction of Sam saying, “FUCK no.” to letting Lucy come back. Love how he outright asks Lucy how he thought that was going to go. Love your own words on that.

you know, i completely get why Jack acted the way he did this episode. Why he is so curious about his father, but omg it was so frustrating to watch. But Mary was right, Jack hasnt seen what Lucifer did to Sam, what he’s done to the world, or Cas or the rest of his family, and he needs to realize Lucifer’s true nature on his own. That being said, the sheer hurt, and fear, especially in Sam at watching Jack bond with Lucifer was visceral. Jared’s acting, especially with his eyes, was absolutely heartbreaking. The way Sam was forced to admit in front of his family that his abuser saved him, and then have to work with and be constantly around him while someone he loves like a son actually seems to enjoy Lucifer’s company… the pain and trauma Jared portrays is excellent. And then, Sam has to set that aside to find a way to bring all those innocent people to safety, go and rescue Charlie (who he personally feels responsible for her death in our world) and Ketch, because he cant have any time to process anything lol. Though, one thing that actually makes me super mad this episode, is how Mary acts when Sam and Dean mention going home. I get Mary’s perspective, but it feels so cold, and almost cruel, when she looks at her sons, one of whom just brutally died and was raised by his torturer, the other whom watched his brother be killed violently, and tell them after that she isnt going with them. That other people, strangers, are worth staying for, but her sons arent worth going with. The way Dean has to spell it out for her, with “We need you Mom. We need you” is both heartwrenching and incredibly frustrating because it feels like after all Mary’s growth, she backslid to the way she acted with the BMOL. It reminds me of the argument they had in The Raid. Just the fact that they continually come second to Mary is frustrating. R.I.P to Gabriel. As much as it hurts though, i think his ending was appropriate. He finally chose a side, and I think his talks with Lucifer this episode helped strengthen his resolve, and his faith in humanity. Watching him die for something, instead of living solely for himself, felt like a very satisfying conclusion to his arc. Lastly, i adore that Sam got that final moment with Lucifer. He has been struggling with his trauma all season, has been forced repeatedly to help and aid and be compassionate to people who has deeply hurt or betrayed him in the past, and finally we get to see him stand toe to toe with the worst of them, again, and come out on top. The bravery, and courage it would have taken Sam to face up to Lucifer like that, and stand between him and Jack, is unfathomable but he did it, and he did what he had to in order to protect his world, especially because, at the moment, he has no way to kill him. Sam needed to see that he could still beat Lucifer, and he did, which i think will give him a lot of closure going forward
