You really do suffer for your art!
At the age of nine this was one of the most crushingly disappointing things I had ever seen, although I can look back on it a little more fondly these days.
If you are taking requests for other specials, though, how about the 30 Years documentary? Or I suppose More Than 30 Years might be more readily available, albeit a lot longer. Either well worth reacting to, though!

Well, definitely better than the last finale, especially with Susan actually appearing and sharing screentime with the Doctor. No worries with it taking time with letting that go. There are still the aspects of the Chibnall era that are still difficult to let go on my end, so I get it. It’s a long road ahead.

This was one of the most hated pieces of Doctor Who for quite a long time, largely due to how the buildup to it gave the impression the show was actually coming back after four years, so I can imagine the crushing disappointment and fury that this goofy bit of nonsense was all they got. But now that it actually did come back and stuck around, the special is looked on a lot more fondly without that baggage, as something that never should have been taken as seriously as it was. And it's certainly a blast just to see particular combinations of actors who never got to be together in the show proper. I know nothing about Eastenders, and frankly I don't want to know, it's a market I can do without, so all that goes over my head, including how the fans actually got to vote on which character would appear in the second part helping the Doctor. And it can't be any worse than the last two finales, am I right? Yes, I'm trying to let it go, it's a process.

"When was the last time you had that junk heap in for an MOT, Professor?", Ace, "Dimensions In Time"
I thought we had all agreed not to mention DIT! - joke.
It's not the most-coherent Children-in-Need special ever, but for me it's great fun.
Now, I don't know the EastEnders characters either so it's not really a "crossover" from my point-of-view. And perhaps that means I can allow the Who nostalgia to flow over me, rather than worry about whether it can be forced to fit into the Doctor Who canon with well-known characters from a soap opera.
I just get bombarded with nostalgia - and I love it.
BTW Louise Jameson and Bonnie Langford would later have regular parts in the "EastEnders" soap.
"Pickled in time like gherkins in a jar.", The Rani, "Dimensions In Time"
But I notice you're not wearing your 3D glasses. Yes, this was broadcast in 3D using special "Pulfrich effect" glasses (not the "normal" red-blue ones).
And, then, in 2013 we get another 3D experience in "The Day of the Doctor" - "3D" as in a three-Doctor story (but you can wear 3D glasses to get the full dimensional experience too)
"Hi, I thought you'd be involved somewhere along the line.", Sarah Jane, "Dimensions In Time"
I love that they brought back so many wonderful companions - and just when you think they wouldn't be able to find else Mike and Bessie turn up ...
"Come on Doctor, not far now.", Brigadier, "Dimensions In Time"
... And the Brig. And Romana. And Victoria. And Leela. And K9!!!
BTW: We "want" this story to be canon because it shows a meeting between the Sixth Doctor and the Brigadier.
Unfortunately, Frazer Hines, Katy Manning, Mary Tamm, and Janet Fielding were unavailable for the recording.
"So now your other selves are all free?", "Certainly I, I mean we, are difficult to get rid of.", Ace and the Doctor, "Dimensions In Time"

A chaotic cacophony of nostalgia is a fair description for this. Sadly, we lost Patrick about four years before this, hence his and One’s absence. For additional sadness, this is the last official appearance from Jon as Three, (his last altogether is a fan film, from what I was told,) as he died three years after this. Love the gasp seeing Three again. Gets you seeing Tom back. The Rani continues to look fierce, as you say. Love how you had the “Where’s my guy?” remark the second before Five appeared, yielding a terrific reaction of joy from you, Jess. Bit of a shame that Michael Gough could not return as the Celestial Toymaker. Would be hilarious to have Ace or someone say, “You look like Batman’s butler!” and have him yell, “OH, WELL, THAT’S ALL RIGHT THEN!!!” (Hey, they said we could influence this, that’s a contribution that I have. Plus, getting Eleven, the Ponds, River, Twelve, Clara, Bill, and Nardy involved in this.) Then, of course, there’s your reaction to Mike. I KNEW you’d greatly love that. Good to see him, the Brig, and good old Bessie again. Likewise, I KNEW you were waiting for K-9. Rather lovely to see Carole Ann in this, and get to see the Doctor and Susan together again. We can’t cover everyone, because we’ll be here for hours gushing over everyone. Answering your one question that I leave to the other fellas to go more in detail with. EastEnders. I’ve not seen the show, but yes, I am aware that there is a show called EastEnders. Very popular as I understand it. One such star of the show was Anita Dobson, who would go on to play the Mrs. Flood Rani. Which the EastEnders stuff here with the Rani’s schemes probably should be counted as foreshadowing these days. All of this is a hoot. Not the greatest thing ever, but absurdly fun. Certain circles liken this to the Star Wars Christmas Special. I don’t because this is FAR more coherent than the Star Wars Christmas Special. As you say, just a lovely time. Surprising how I cried with the last Seven and Ace scene where Seven says that he and his predecessors and successors are hard to get rid of, and he and Ace share a laugh. Just such a sweet last scene with the two of them before they had that glorious final bow in Power of the Doctor. Or at least, the latter scene is presently their last scene together, and gives them the proper send-off that we never got before. Lovely times will be had with softening the blow for no more Classic Who Fridays. This was delightful, Jess, thank you so much.

OH?! 😁 as a fan of both Doctor Who and British soap operas (specifically EastEnders) I love this.
