Heyya guys!
This time I wanted to share with you something a bit different. You know I have a ton of tutorials about various simulations done in Houdini, but I have just a few tuts about more complex scenes that can be created in Houdini. And "complex" doesn't mean VEX or some advanced rbd or flip stuff. In this tutorial we are going to create an abstract setting with these 7 lamps from scratch and my main goal was to show you as many different techniques as possible as well as teach you the "problem-solving" mindset, which, trust me, is far more crucial than simulations alone.
This is the first part where we will mostly do the modeling and texturing, while in second part (on Wednesday) we will animate the lights, and render this (Ill show you two ways – multipass exr and 32bit tiff)
P.S. I was recording this for 3 hours (1:28 is heavily edited time haha), so excuse me for language mistakes, i'm not native.
Enjoy!
