FLIP + Morph VDB :)

Hey guys!

This one took me some time as I again dived deep into the flip sim haha. In today's tutorial, we use flip to fill in the shape of the collider, but as I didn't want to spend hours caching it, I used a lower-res sim and then morphed it with the VDB of the initial shape. Sounds complex, but it is not :)

Anyhow, hope you enjoy it!

As a beginner as well, I totally agree with Qaisar Yegimbayev! Thank you so much for what you do Nick! <3

As a beginner I would appreciate a full tutorial from start to finish so I don’t have to catch up on older posts. I like the approach that you take with standalone projects to teach new techniques, making them complete might be more time consuming, but it’s greatly more efficient for me as a viewer.

Definitely. It did over here. At some point, the animated Timestep will just take over the morphing. I didn't check if the mask carries through in rendering, though, didn't have more time yesterday. Would be nice to check and find out, very useful for production if it does. 😍🤝

Oh I remember someone told me about it on my older VDB Morph tut, I should have checked it for this one. But does it work with the mask that shrinks?

Nice, man! You can also animate the Timestep in the VDB Morph. That way, you can make absolutely sure to have the perfect end shape and smooth transitions. I animated it down from 5 to 0.01. Looks great.

thanks man! Hope you'll find it useful!

Excited for this!
