2026-01-24 09:40:49 +0000 UTCJust a reminder, Jake just came off of filming Nightcrawler, where he was very scrawny. But Antione the director trained with Jake to get into proper shape for this roll. Also Kurt Sutter, the creator of Sons of Anarchy wrote this movie for Eminem, but he couldn't do the film because it interfered with his promotion schedule for MMLP2 release. But he stayed on and did the Soundtrack. Eminem collabed with Tech N9ne for Speedom (WWC2). Didn't charge him anything, just a verse for a verse.. I thought that meant another Eminem & Tech N9ne collab. But instead he added Tech's verse to 'Beast' the first song that played in the first match.

2026-01-24 00:22:29 +0000 UTCIf you want to see one of the darkest sports films of all-time got to checkout The Hustler (1961) starring Paul Newman, George C. Scott, Jackie Gleason, and Piper Laurie. Then, it’s sequel The Color of Money (1986)has a different tone, but still works. Better to watch these films off back to back because every decision Paul Newman’s character makes is based on his experiences with the first film and you will get a better emotional experience. The Color of Money stars Paul Newman and Tom Cruise and directed by Martin Scorsese.

2026-01-23 23:59:38 +0000 UTCAn underrated boxing film I highly recommend is The Fire Inside. It was actually 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and stars Brian Tyree Henry. It is also Director by the cinematographer of Black Panther and Mudbound. The film is also written by Barry Jenkins.

2026-01-23 23:42:51 +0000 UTCI think for me one of the things about this movie is everybody is very plausible. It'd be very easy to make 50 Cent's character almost cartoonish, but sure, he's out for himself, and by the way I think there's a bit of a misread; Billy doesn't leave him with many options at the end of the day, and he makes money whoever wins as a promoter. I do think he's trying to do the best he can for him, even though that might not mean going down with the ship. He's never cartoonishly bad like he could have been though. Oona Laurence who plays his daughter is such an important piece of casting, she's like 12/13 when they were shooting that, she's really good too - I could make an argument she holds the movie together. If Achara and Vivian haven't seen it, End of Watch would be a good Jake Gyllenhaal movie for them to react to IMO. Forest Whitaker has been one of my favourite actors for many years, I've always found him underappreciated, and I'll never not recommend that one time he won an Oscar, for Last King of Scotland.
