2026-01-24 10:24:23 +0000 UTCAgree. While I'd seen the movie (multiple times by this point) and therefore could not be spoiled, Brandon hadn't. So, from my perspective, I was robbed of seeing Brandon's reactions to those reveals. Kristen's insistence that certain things were shown in the first movie was maddening, because they absolutely weren't. Some things were hinted at and can be picked up on by peopke who are super dialed in, but never explicitly shown. I don't know how she knew all the reveals she did (saw the musical and forgot, read spoiler reviews, watched other reactions, etc), Kristen somehow managed to fail in her job here of giving us a first time reaction. It's even worse that it led to the spoiling of another person's experience so we don't get the benefit of his reaction too. Next time you watch a sequel or conclusion movie with a long period of time in between, I'd recommend rewatching the first movie right before so you can keep straight what was and was not shown before this. I was super excited to watch this reaction, but was entirely let down. Kristen is normally an excellent reactor (one of my favorites on this channel, actually), but this one was a big miss for her.

She kept saying they were shown in the last movie, but it wasn’t shown it was for people who know no but for those who don’t know and who aren’t like as well-versedit would’ve been a really cool thing to figure out on our own, but it was spoiled the entire movie was spoiled all of the main huge, huge ending points were completely spoiled so

2026-01-20 09:27:08 +0000 UTCAlso regarding why Elphaba wasn't more heartbroken over Nessa's death, I also was a little letdown by her reaction at first but after thinking on it, I think it kinda makes sense. By that time, Elphaba and Nessa sort of became estranged so Elphaba sort of lost that emotional connection with her sister so her death wasn't as hard. She was essentially mourning a family member she lost touch with. At the same time though, she does still have that love for her sister which is why she was sad about her death even if she wasn't distraught and also why she was angry Glinda gave her shoes to Dorothy.

I agree with some of your critiques regarding how some scenes could've been fleshed out more but that's really my own real big critique on the film. Other than that, I loved it! Also, regarding the shoes being silver, you are right in that it's partly because they were silver in the original story of The Wizard of Oz but also, they couldn't get the copyright permission from MGM to have them be red since MGM originated the ruby shoes but they were able to do an ode when the shoes had a red glow from when Elphaba enchanted them.
