December's Patreon reward for Leaf!
Feat. Nefer, a mixture between a Jolteon and a Flareon!
These were all the steps taken to create the reward:
- 1- Sketch: For this reward specifically I decided to go for a much more "Dynamic" Pose, so I went for like a jumping/landing kinda thing going! It was a little tougher than usual but I think it's worth it to make it look more different.
- 2- Lineart: I add all the clean lines + the details and fixed proportions
- 3- Flat Colors: Then I move on with the flat colors following the provided design!
- 4- Movement effects: Now I redraw a little bit of the lineart to add some movement lines, and also some blur on the colors!
- 5- Lightning effects 1: I begin the procedure to create some lightning effects around the character by drawing some sharp lines to define the original shapes
- 6- Lightning effects 2: Then I draw on top of them some good glow effects to give some life to these effects!
- 7- The next changes are kinda subtle but to every color I added a little gradient for more color depth
- 8- Then I move on with the shading and include 3 layers, one for shadows and two for highlights, since there's light sources all over the place I decided to keep al shadows to a minimum.
- 9- Last but not least, I add another overlay layer with some yellow to further sell the idea this boi is glowing!
